What is the behaviour of zombies at night?

Crawler zombies can defy physics during the day and walk through solid objects like a ghost...... so are you seriously wondering how good their night behavior is?

I highly doubt zeds work better at night. If anything, they are more glitched.

My experience with night zombies is that they spawn less and have much duller senses. I walked right past several of them without them noticing me. I was crouched, but in daylight I would have been seen at almost any range. This was only about 50m away. I got through the whole NWAF with only two zombies noticing me at all.

They are more docile at night and have very poor vision compared to daytime.

This, I've walked past a zombie that was less than 2 feet away from me and didn't aggro of course some do even from 5 feet but it's a clear indication that their visibility is lowered by a fair bit.

They make little zombies, what else? Don't you hear those grunting noises when you get close to them?

 

Then they hide them in the ground and when you kill the parents the little zombielinos dig out and attack you. Or did you think they simply spawn out of nothing???
