Schweinsteiger 107 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) If you have a damaged rucksack (or any container), do the items inside degrade faster then if they were in a pristine backpack, medkit, etc.? Thanks. Edited August 8, 2014 by Schweinsteiger
Guest Posted August 8, 2014 I don't get the deeper sense behind that. If i had a shoody backpack as hell with several pristine items in it and walk around 10h in the woods, y should the items degrade? Humidity? I'd like to see, if i had items in a badly damaged backpack stored at the bottom might just get lost (randomly dropped) after a while runnin around the woods. Because every damaged backpack has a big hole in the bottom. They never have frayed straps or stuck zippers, right? What if someone snuck up behind you and spray-painted "SHOOT ME I'M NEW" on the back? Would that constitute as damaged? So many questions, so little time.
trev186 389 Posted August 8, 2014 I think that damaged items should be able to hold less things.

King Raptor 191 Posted August 8, 2014 And yet no one has answered the question... That is because they thought you were being all phil-o-shopical. From what I can tell, items aren't damaged by putting them in ruined containers. I tried keeping an eye out on it and I witnessed no degradation over the course of about 30 minutes to an hour. (Ruined pants with some pristine objects tucked away in 'm)
LeeVanSpliff 156 Posted August 8, 2014 And yet no one has answered the question... I'm not really sure it's known atm. I read the same thing somewhere (that items would deteriorate in ruined containers). I tried to reproduce it (by running around with stuff in my ruined pants - for quite a while), but I couldn't make it happen. So I currently assume that they don't get worn faster. If someone knows for sure, I'd also be very interested in hearing the answer.

LeeVanSpliff 156 Posted August 8, 2014 Did ur willy deteriorate? Well I DO think I felt it getting a little smaller when I missed the same zombie eight times in a row ...
way455 40 Posted August 8, 2014 An item shouldn't become ruined or degrade in a ruined container, that doesn't make sense. Should it be protected less, yes but from what? Impact, weather, exposure?I think rain should slowly ruin/degrade items not in protective cases that can be ruined by water. Bandages and electronics for instance would be good. Backpacks could protect stuff from the elements until you become completely soaked. It would make travel more interesting, if not a pain in the ass when the weather is bad. Having to run for building to building in storms is very realistic. They should add drops to scopes in weather too. Then they could all water repellent spray for your clothes (same can as paint or disinfectant). Then the raincoat would be a viable tine to wear if it protected electronics.I wouldn't have an issue if damaged things carried less or disabled slots, that's real.
Schweinsteiger 107 Posted August 26, 2014 I like the idea of water proofing our gear. Good idea.
