ot84 0 Posted August 3, 2014 I was wondering if I would be able to get help on why I am getting really low frames pretty much everywhere I go. System SpecsOS: Windows 8.1Processor: AMD FX-8350 Eight-core processor 4.0GhzMemory: 10GB RAMGraphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti GDDR5, 2GB Memory - Just bought recentlyI am getting around 15 FPS in cities and just under 20 in forests and fields, but jumps all the way up to 60 when I am looking out on the coast. Not the greatest with computers and I changed the cfg files but I am not sure what to change my launch options to under the -exThreads, -cpuCount, etc. Any help would be great thanks! plexico 386 Posted August 4, 2014 I've heard a lot of people say that DayZ hates AMD processors, so that's probably it. It's really wierd because I have a worse processor and gpu( i5 2320 + 7770) and I maintain 50-60 FPS outside of cities and 25-40 in cities. Just another "alpher" thing, hopefully they will address this issue ASAP.

King Raptor 191 Posted August 4, 2014 It's the new patch, not your system. The previous patch worked way better.
BeefBacon 1185 Posted August 4, 2014 10GB RAM? Jesus. What are you, a video editor?

unit1stealth 5 Posted August 4, 2014 You may want to look at the rendering resolution. I run mine around 100% or sometimes lower in the cities. The higher it is, the lower the fps. Try lowering it to 100% and then lower if need be, while keeping the other settings in mind. Good luck.
King Raptor 191 Posted August 4, 2014 What? What? I have 8GB of RAM, what does that make me? Someone who appreciates dual channel architecture!
BeefBacon 1185 Posted August 4, 2014 What? I have 8GB of RAM, what does that make me? Someone who appreciates dual channel architecture! You're taking what I said like it was a personal insult. Computers geared to do video editing typically have a lot of RAM. Most software doesn't require 10 or even 8GB of RAM. That you're getting so worked up is weird. Relax. If I was doing video editing I'd probably drop another 16 into it.

Is my job. 8GB works fine for me on my personal computer... but I wouldn't turn another 8 down. I'll need to upgrade my pc in general some time soon. It can run DayZ at around 30 fps which is more or less playable, so I can't complain. To actually address the OP, DayZ is far from optimised. People say that their performance changes each update but I don't personally notice a difference. I daresay the game will be cleaned up when it enters beta, so for now most of us will be running sub-par framerates, unfortunately.

I daresay the game will be cleaned up when it enters beta, so for now most of us will be running sub-par framerates, unfortunately. Runs at 60 FPS out in the empty spaces. As I close in on towns I get down to 35-40 at the lowest but I can frequently get close to 50 if there isn't too much going on even in small cities. I built this rig for MWO, another game that is CPU intensive avoiding AMD CPUs knowing they were an issue from various benchmarks. Since I had a chance to throw in more RAM than needed I did so that the system can grow.
ot84 0 Posted August 4, 2014 I downloaded the Razer Gamebooster and with the same optimization settings it improved my fps to around 25 in cities now, so I guess that's a pretty good program too try out if others are still having troubles. Btw to the person that said it, no I'm not a video editor lol, it was a pre-built HP computer with an updated graphics card!Just wondering, is there is a problem with AMD processors in a lot more games than just Dayz? Do you think they will fix the optimization for the Dayz standalone so that people with AMD processors don't have troubles, cause that's disappointing!
