Draco122 412 Posted July 26, 2014 It may have been suggest before but all current searches towards "light sources" and just "Candles" in general hasn't turned up much. Basically put, given the rural area and the current populace being a post soviet state, wouldn't it be still fairly common to encounter wax candles? They don't give alot of light but you can stack them in the inventory and even prop them around a house or a building, or even set them up as waypoints in the darkness. They can come in different sizes and you could even find a Candle Lantern which would allow you to carry it around at night with it blowing out in the wind. Additionally the addition of the old style Oil lanterns which can run on practically anything flammable could be another unique addition, they could run off lighter fluid, kerosene, gasoline. And you could even find some "static" oil lamp inside houses which can give some natural light providing you have fuel source.

Mark Darkers 151 Posted July 26, 2014 Candles are already confirmed as a light source.
Chaingunfighter 917 Posted July 26, 2014 There are actually gas lamps in the game already. Not the same thing as an oil or kerosene one but they're close enough.
sachad 1016 Posted December 22, 2014 Another thing candles can be used for is basic waterproofing, as demonstrated by this friendly Russian person. Now of course, this has nowhere near the level of protection as actual waterproof gear, but it could come handy in a pinch maybe?
