smoq2 221 Posted July 21, 2014 (edited) I can't find it mentioned on the official forum nor in the bug tracker so I decided to ask you guys about opinions on the matter before I submit it as a bug. So I have a problem with hearing gunshots and I'm not talking about a situation where the shooter is >500m away from me, but my friend shooting and standing just a couple of meters away. Yesterday he shot a mosin round while standing ~10m to my right and I didn't hear it. I just saw his target spilling blood and dropping down. It also seems to happen at random cause I could hear the next shot loud and clear. So has it been established what is causing this? Are there any fixes I can do on my end to remedy the problem? Is this even considered a bug or do I have some settings wrong? A conflict with TS or some TS pluggin or other possible software? We were at the NWAF when my friend said he heard the reloading sound of someone logging in (I heard nothing) then about 10 seconds later he got shot and I heard nothing. "I didn't hear anything either."So yah, the bug is there, don't doubt about that. But the development team has hired audio developers or something like that to sort those problems out. I dare claim we fall victim to this bug more often than we know. I encounter it about... everyday. I play together with others and when we hear shots it's always:"I heard a mosin." & "Yeah, I heard it from the docks." & "I heard nothing?" "I didn't hear anything either."So yah, the bug is there, don't doubt about that. But the development team has hired audio developers or something like that to sort those problems out. Yeah, now that I'm aware of the issue I tend to notice it in every play session if I play with friends.That's a bit of a relief, although I'm not particularly sure if they are aware of this specific problem. trev186 389 Posted July 21, 2014 I have expierenced this and an even odder variant...Sometimes when firing an both the M4 and Mousin my friends shots will sound muffeled like they were suppressed. I was probably 20 meters away. Happened again when he shot the hangar door to screw around and I thought it was someone with an M4 from a distance. brumey 116 Posted July 22, 2014 the "eating Food"-sound is of the worst Quality one can imagine! so much Background noise!!!! as for the not Hearing gunshots: i Encounter this every time i meet People in dayz. some poeple hear the shots. some People hear nothing at all!
