Is Cherno and Elektro really that fun?

Recommended Posts

Ok as the subject says... is it?

I don't see the point of walking into those places when all it seems to be is TDM (on a persistent survival simulator seems odd).

Also when squads "Lockdown" the cities what are you really gaining? You're fighting under equipped people... like unless your starting a flashlight collection I don't see the purpose.

Cherno is only useful for starters. Go in, go to the military tents, grab a nice gun, go to supermarket, grab a map, compass, and watch, Get some food. Bam. Your set up for heading to the north.

Or... you head straight up north, go to a couple of deerstands and farms for weapons and visit polana/zelenogorsk/berezino for the general store.

If New Orleans after Katrina hit is any indication, a TDM atmosphere during a zombie apocalypse is not that unlikely. Especially inns place as well armed as this.

@Oompa

I've always played that way... I guess I just can't get into the mind frame of "survival" while running headlong into a high population area where most others have firearms.

Cherno and Elektro are a lot of fun when you have no gear and nothing to lose.

Don't forget, not all groups are bandits. If I wanted to "lock down" a city I would be hunting bandits and other clans, not bean smugglers.

I always go to Cherno and Elketro to get supplies and starting weapons. Yes, there are dangers but they are pretty much avoidable if you are smart. Most of all, stay low and watch out for tall buildings and gun shots as they are quite often accompanied by snipers.

I usually go there when I'm bored of my character and want to start over. It's a more entertaining "respawn" button for me.

I like having Cherno and Electro the way it is now. It offers a different style of game play within the same game. Not everyone wants to run for 3 hours trying to get back north again after a death. Sometimes people need a break, and want to see how long they could survive inside a city. Cherno and Electro offer that point of view.

if you happend to join a night server (which means there is not many players) cherno is amazing for loot. found 6 diffrent weapons and enough food / drinks to survive a long time. Cherno during the day at a high populated server. Your asking to get shot. Snipers and barbed wire is all the awaits you there.

@Zipper

Ok I can understand that in fact that really kinda opens a new idea on the Cherno Elektro thing for me at least.

But still my biggest complaint is that there is so much more world out there that the average time alive still creeping around that 30min mark. It doesn't make sense to myself when you can get everything you need to survive in the same 30 mins by going like 2 kilometers north.

After playing this game for a couple weeks consistently the only past time I have now is to respawn, grab a lee enfield/winchester and the best sidearm I can find.

Then just go to cherno/electro and pvp it up until I die again.

Once you get used to this game surviving is easy and all there is to do is mass player or zombie killing

I avoided them both til recently. My new favorite thing to do is go through both cities at night looting and taking down the barbed wire. I've had the best encounters doing this as well.
