I have been getting wacked at the ATC but it isn't from snipers.  Up on the second floor and higher the are some bad spots that give you the instant "DayZ Screen of Death".  Happens quite often in fact.

Been camping there for about a week. If your looking for Mil loot your dangerous. Either "Hero" or "bandit". Been letting the Bambie's come and go so I can focus on bandits. If you wear any type of mask I'm sorry to say I pull the trigger. That would be one way I might kill a "Hero" or friendly player.

 

Seen allot of weird stuff go on there in this last week. Like seriously murders via axe seem to be rampant in the ATC.

Learn how to clear out rooms correctly and you'll be able to kill everyone inside. Slicing the pie is an important thing, also leaning and NOT running in 3rd person and not using ALT. Seriously, every "SomeoneOnPCin1080p" guy does the same thing, full sprint on 3rd person, always weapon in the ready position. And they even fire from 3rd person, trusting the little dot..

I agree with this whole heartedly, however you will (at times) see me use 3rd person to shoot at close range with a fully automatic weapon. I have "switch perspective" bound to my mouse4 button, so I can quickly and easily switch back and forth, but there are times when I'll use 3rd person in a pinch. That said, slicing the pie and leaning, as well as taking your time in an area is super important to learn and most of the people who play this game simply lack those fundamental 1st person shooter skills.

Really, when approaching any military installation, players have to take precautions and proceed with care.

Running like a headless chicked only to get wasted, is surely not the right way to do it.

 

Btw as much as camping can be unpleasant, it is well within boundaries of the game.

If you do not cheat, hack or glitch, you are free to do whatever floats your boat anyway.

When I'm out solo I just avoid places like that. Maybe take a look from the distance with the Mosin and try to kill a camper when he's just about to close the door again after looting a sad victim (maybe you?). But most time I just go to the forest, hunt some deer and do that manly Putin stuff, riding bears and so on... ;)

If you walk solo, keep your head down.

 

When I'm in group, things change alot. There is a good chance to wipe the camping team if you play in team and don't mess up your shots. Have one of you head to the building and open the door. Prepare to snipe the guy lying on the floor just next to the stair or the guy on the stairs. Just don't mess up this shots or your front line buddy may die fast ;)

There is also a way into the ATC over the ladder. Of course they hear you climbing up. But if you time it right with your team, so that you enter the top stairs (the ones you can shoot through in your back) shorty after the rest of your team opened the door downstairs, the campers will panic 'cause they already lost a guy to the Mosin and now are dangered by two sides. (The guy coming from the top should get very quick updates of the players location from his buddies or he will just die on the stairs).

 

These campers are just funny guys. They sometimes light flares inside the building to attrackt players. Maybe a new player is running like "WTF is that red lightning? Maybe the ZombieWitchMaster in there? I'll check that out. Dead."

If you have the time to play and camp the ATC for 3 hours until one arrives, you may have way too much time or it does not take alot to entertain you. Skippin school, no friends? I don't know. But I know that most campers are kids who want easy kills because they lack skill. So like the others wrote before me: Let them wait. If they lie on the floor in the ATC for 6 hours, they will get bored of the game and quit or come out and walk around. Then they are an easy target for you, 'cause they are only trained in guaranteed shots on the same spot but have no clue what to do in another area or the open field ;)

What about shooting the shit with buddies on TeamSpeak while you wait for the inevitable PVP action to take place several minutes after a secret restart? Honestly, there are always people at NEAF. It's not like you're going to be sitting there for hours -- ten minutes at the most.

How is that any worse than spending 20+ minutes running to NWAF to server hop for gear? When I spawn, I find a basic gun and camp a high traffic area. Meanwhile, I'm doing my online banking while waiting for gear to come to me. This isn't a fast-paced shooter where camping denotes mouth-breathing; it's a tactical shooter with survival elements.

But yeah, camping is so stupid.
