dayzdb map?

is the dayzdm map acurate with dayz standalone, or is it more for the mod. I'm trying to find the military base south of the NW airfield, but what I see on the map does not match what I am seeing in the game.

That is the map I have been using. I have been circling the NW airfield, but still I'm lost. desperately need a compass so I can get my exact bearings.

DayZDB has two different versions of the map.  At the top, MAP is for the Standalone.  Under MOD is the map for the mod.

If you're talking about the Veresnik outpost, on your map it is grid point 045 070.  If you need a more general direction, it's between Kabanino and Vybor.  If you still can't find it beyond that, I... truly don't know what to tell you.

To find the Vybor military compound, go to the HQ/jail building that is on the south side of NWAF, that is close to the barracks. Go out the gate that is in front of the HQ bldg, find your way through the wall and fence, and you'll come to a road. Turn left at the road, follow it until it comes to a "T". You're going south. Keep going the same direction, you can follow the line of trees, it leads directly to that military base you're looking for.

I think two things are throwing me off. Does time move faster than real life? 1 hour real life equals how long in game? Two I think I'm traveling farther than thought I was. I was at the NW airfield so I decided to head east to the coast. It seems like in very little time I was at Berezino, maybe 15 minutes. Is 1 mile in game realticely to scale with real life?

It's a 250squared KM map, however you sprint at something daft like 30km/h. the 250squared km size is counting the ocean and the islands too though.

so the map is basically 15km by 15km, and running you can cross it in 30 minutes?

found the military base, and finally a large backpack. still no compass. I was under estimating disrance,

The dazdb map is getting a bit out of date. The small, unnamed village in the far northwest just isn't there anymore (although at least one of the water pumps is...thankfully).I'm not sure it's accurate about the NWAF buildings either.
