Your FPS and Optimization

Recommended Posts

I am currently getting 20 FPS on low settings. I wanna know how many you guys get and post your specs if you can.

What do you think about DayZ being optimized towards the game's 1.0 release? Will it be a MASSIVE improvement or a minor one?

Post your specs and we can tell you if your toaster can be helped or if it should be relegated to play Minecraft only.

I use a fancy potato.

You wanna buy me a computer then?

My laptop is a joke. Only thing that can save me is optimization.

Sure. You wanna come work for my company to pay off that computer first? ;)

0.46 gave me a nice boost. Running high 80's in fields, 50-60 in woods / small towns. A surprising 20's in Novod. Specs are in my sig below.

My PC almost costs less than 1 of your GPU's.  B)

Hardware doesn't scale as it should in DayZ due to lack of support for modern technology and software. For instance, my old gaming PC (i5-3570k, one GTX 770, 8gb Ram) pulled 50-70 fps in Battlefield 4 with Maxed Graphics. The PC in my sig pulls anywhere from 130-200 fps, and it essentially has a slightly better processor, more ram (game doesn't utilize it to a great extent so why bother count it), and 1 more GTX 770.

Once that new renderer in it will be boosted allot, although a laptop is not optimal for playing games with a scale such as DayZ. Even if you have a good graphics card, it is and stays a mobile build graphics card for laptops and the same desktop version will have better performance.

Sorry if im hijacking this thread but it is regarding fps and optimization  :)

Im fairly still a bit of a noob when it comes to optimizing the files for Dayz, So I was hoping if some would some one would be kind enough to to explain what/how I should go about changing stuff to suit my spec/

My Spec (dont laugh)

Crosshair IV Formula (AM3)

AMD Phenom x6 1050T @ 3.5ghz

8gb Corsair ddr3 RAM

Saphire HD7850 2gb  (also got spare GTX 260 ti 1gb - which ive just swapped out for the 7850)

So what do you lovely people suggest for config changes etc to boost fps but for the game to NOT look too shit  :)

How much did your desktop cost you in total?

Try this: -winxp -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -maxMem=3072 -nosplash -noPause

If you have a quadcore CPU!

I get anywhere from 60-80's in the fields (I've seen over 100 once or twice briefly lol), 40-60's in woods and cities are all over the place. Sometimes it's in the 20's and other times I can being the 40's depending on server and city.

Resolution @ 1080p with maxed graphics settings and post processing turned off.

As mentioned you should see a big improvement in performance once we go to the new renderer using DX10 & 11 (assuming your hardware supports it).

I know this wasn't directed at me, but I spent about $605 for my current set up. Not including an operating system, as I already had one. Also, I bought my graphics card for a deal that I couldn't refuse. $75 cash, brand new. See sig.

You can build a PC for roughly $500 that will excel far beyond your laptop. You can easily get an operating system as well if you know what you're doing.

How much did your desktop cost you in total?

Well I build it in 2009 and since then upgraded videocard and added extra 4 GB RAM and monitor - total cost about 1300 €  today, but of course parts cost was higher back then and it also includes the case, which I will re-use and the OS and gaming mouse (Logitech g500s). Thinking about building a new system by the time DAYZ SA is ready for offical release, hope it will last that long. So far it runs most games fine on normal to high settings, excluding our beloved DAYZ SA of course ;)

I have a dual core i3 but it's hyperthreaded to 4 cores.

DayZ doesn't have hyperthreading support. It will just count 2 cores.

Here it what I have my launch parameters set to.

-winxp -nosplah -skipIntro -high -maxMem=4095 -maxVRAM=32 cpuCount=4 -exThreads=4

I have an Intel Core i3 3217-U and an Intel HD 4000 graphics card with 32 mb of VRAM and 4GB of RAM. What do you recommend I set my parameters to? And how do you know it doesn't have hyperthreading support?
