Please wipe everything

Seeing as Rocket's trying to figure out better ways to make people work together.

With that in mind, i think wiping and putting everyone on the same level would go hand in hand

Seeing as this is a mod in alpha stage i'd say go for it. Makes me wonder why this doesn't happen more often to begin with.

How's about you make your own game' date=' put-out an open alpha, THEN you can decide how often a full wipe should happen. As for the initial suggestion, maybe after the duping loopholes have been patched out. Much as it would suck to lose what I've gotten so far, it'd be nice knowing that everyone's on a clean slate.

A wipe gets my vote, so long as it resets vehicles and tents. Perhaps have a wipe every 4 - 6 months?

I agree.

I would say we are more so testers rather than players.

Frequent wipe recommended for better development.

We all want the game become better, and i think constant global wipe and testing is necessary to be more likely.

Wiping doesn't improve testing in a game with no character progression. You test the same mechanics and functionality on Day 50 that you test on Day 1.

Scheduled wipes are pointless and counter-productive to long term goals. It's just as important to test the "end game" aspects and equipment as it is to test the new player scenarios.

I would, however, support a one time wipe after item, tent and vehicle duplication issues are fixed. Duplicating items is far too common especially (don't hate me) among server admins who can basically dupe anything at any time with a server restart.

I'm all for regular database wipes. As long as everything goes, including vehicles, tents etc.

(Not sure if servers would need to do some form of reset to remove tents etc?)

I'm of the opinion that a wipe should happen, but not now. When we hit Beta, a full wipe would be fine by me. But as of now, nah.

But I don't think Rocket should be bothered to do this on a weekly basis.

how about we let rocket answer that question.

How about we let rocket answer whether or not he even wants to wipe the database?

I roll with a few other players and we are all of the opinion that there should be a server wipe. We find way too many cheat boxes and it's clear to see the game has been injected with way too much hacked in and duped gear. The database should definitely be wiped, but after they have fixed the issues of duping and hacked in items. We do need to even the playing field once again.

This has my vote!

Love to see this, Just imagen a server just started up after a wipe fills up quickly 50 people spawn on the beaches just imagen the groups that would be made and the race for guns and supplies. Would be amazing.

The Makarov removal patch would have been an ideal opportunity for a complete wipe, agreed.

I think that being "attached to your gear" is what makes this game (for me anyway)' date=' otherwise all the tension and "fright" would not be there.

I'm not scared of dying (it has no real consequence), I AM however scared of losing my gear, it's more valuable than my characters life.

Ditto. That being said, I still support a wipe as long as it applies to everyone and has a reason to happen, such as relevant exploit fixes.

Bumping this because I haven't been playing recently and would like to come back to a fresh game (not that I cant make it fresh for myself, but I just think it would be better if everyone had a fresh start together). Call it selfish if you want, I guess it probably is. lol...

I also agree with the people in this thread that feel more frequent, maybe even scheduled wipes should be the norm. Season based wipes with rankings/ladder sounds nice, but even just per-patch wipes or similar time frame would be good for the game and community.

When it's out of alpha sure but it wouldn't do much if until than at least when its at beta we can all start over I doubt we will have any of the things we have now cause I guarantee we are all gonna die a couple times until it's at beta.

I think its time to wipe all character info in the game and start over after u fix the duping bugs/stop hackers. There is too much stuff out there that is illegally gained. Plus' date=' it is an alpha stuff should be wiped more often.

[/quote']

Um. No. I have stuff I actually worked for. Screw your wipe.

wow didnt know this thread got so much attention :P but it seems the majority here want a wipe. I dont see the reason to be so attached to your gear this isnt world of warcraft and stuff will be wiped eventually... I just think it would be good to wipe it now after all the fixes to get rid of all the duped items etc...

I think a wipe after every patch or update would be an an idea.

Clear out that damned wire barricading
