I joined this community way back when it first formed sometime in August last year (I think?). Me and my buddies were looking for a good server to play, away from the public server crappery, so we ventured onto BMRF #1 (the only BMRF server back then!) and turned it into our home. It's got a great community, an amazing and dedicated administration and moderation team and great custom setups. I recommend you give it a try!

The server is running at max capacity at peak times and around quarter to half capacity at off peak time. If you want to play DayZ how it was meant to be played, jump on BMRF and meet up with some friendlies or hunt them down and take their beans!

Yes. This particular hacker seemed to want to play protection for survivors against bandits. However, we don't tolerate hacking of any sort, no matter the intention.

Electro, you should play private HIVE servers. The admins there have more control and are able to implement their own custom programs such as whitelists or custom-made anti-hacks to stop hackers. Private HIVE servers tend to have more admin presence as well so when a hacker does slip through, the damage is usually minimal. You could check out the Billy Mays Remembrance Foundation private HIVE server or if you want something smaller, the DPV private HIVE server. You can find them both in the Private HIVE Discussion section. Both servers tend to be on page one or two.

You probably accidentally attempted to open up an admin option with that hotkey and the server kicked you for it. Usually things like that are nothing to worry about.

Since you're accusing me, allow me to respond in place of Peep. Never once have I abused my admin powers. I have joked on occasion about placing a bus on top of the Elektro hospital which is a sort of inside joke amongst some of the regulars of the server. Feel free to PM me screenshots (or post publicly, if you want. No difference to me) of any time you think I'm abusing my powers and I'm 100% certain I can give you a logical explanation. As Peep already posted, bans that aren't for hacking are because you're abusing people in side chat. This isn't Call of Duty, we don't want to hear "UMAD BRO" 24/7 in our side chat. We don't want to hear you complain about dying or brag excessively because you managed to kill someone. We've banned entire clans before for a reason. Don't bring half the story to the forums to try and win your side. Usually when we find a suspcious character within a clan, we ban the entire clan so we can hear their side of the story on our forums. Do you really want a clan of possible hackers running around on the server? I don't want to have to clean up that mess. If you don't believe me, we have clans that play now that have been banned and unbanned due to those circumstances. The only exception to that rule is the fact we had to ban an entire clan for being complete and utter idiots in side. I'm not sure why I need to explain this to you, we locked the server to test a change in the "was killed by" code since the previous setup would spam the message after every shot landed. We were worried it would be a never-ending spam of "was attacked by" so rather than let players in only for us to realise our mistake and take it down immediately after, we locked it for FIVE minutes whilst we checked it out. Lastly, you can clearly see the rules on the forums and as the in-game periodic messages. You do not smacktalk heavily in chat. You do not act like an idiot in chat. We don't need anymore reason than that to ban people, but strangely enough we give them a warning anyway. Haven't you seen the RCON message of 'Knock it off in side chat.' ? You should have. It was targetted at you plenty of times.

The community banlist has alot of false-positives due to the way it's handled. 100% legitimate players are banned quite frequently, sadly. However it does work on actual hackers so it's not all bad. I'd get in touch with the administrators of the banlist and plead your case.

We're currently looking for a night-time moderator to keep an eye on the server whilst me and Peep sleep. We stay up as late as humanly possible whilst still having a decent sleeping pattern as it is.

Like any anti-cheat, the system is purely reactive and always one step behind the cheat programs. We do our best to keep hackers out of the server, but we can never stamp them out completely.

We have our own resident programmer who does a great job adding new server functionality that is compatible with our new custom programs to help keep the server healthy!

These two are decent people and will no doubt run a great server. They played on the same server as me and made the game eventful and entertaining during their stay. Check out their server, you won't be disappointed I'm sure.
