Primary disappearing when drinking

Hello.

recently ive lost a couple of weapons, but was not sure how i managed to lose them. I'll explain.

i usually run around with two primaries. A Mosin and a short-range weapon. Mosin on the back and the other in my arms. However, yesterday i was sniping a heli-crash spot just south of NWAF, and had to drink to get fully hydrated. I did not drop my AKM before pressing the "drink all" and thats when it happened. When i was done drinking, i had lost my AKM, and only had a mosin left.

I also checked a 50meter radius of where i was, and it cant be delay of the server as i had camped a good 30-40 minutes before this happened. I also searched the spot i was sitting 5-10 times over a 30 min total.

Can anyone explain this? Havent heard of it before.

also, have not made a bug-report as ive been unable to recreate the bug so far.

Carrying two primary weapons like mosin, AKM, m4 et, like that is not intended and it is kinda of exploit so no wonder it gets buggy.

 

Same thing when you try to climb ladder when exploiting carrying two primary weapons like that, you always drop one on the ground.

What you are saying may be true, Frosty, but i thought it was ment to be possible? Its logical that one weapon is going to the ground when climbing a ladder, but its as much logical to carry one in your arms while another is at your back too.

i really dont see it as a exploit.

still, exploit or not, any explanation on why the weapon disappears?

I belive it was dropped on the ground somehere and desynched.

 

It happened to me with many things that I dropped on the ground, they were "gone" and when  I was checking the area 15 minutes later I was finding them, but not in place where I dropped them but moved 20-30 meters.

also, they stated that in the future if you happen to have 2 main guns , if one is in your had upon logging, this one will dissapear no matterwhat. Hencheforth why we Need craftable gunbags. ( ofc for the Penalty of beign slower ect. )

yeah, ive had that happen to me too, but ive always found them. Besides, i was 30 min+ at the same spot before it disappeared, shouldnt it be at the same spot even if it was desync?

Is there other possibilities than desync?

The game has some buggy drop mechanics at times, though not all the time. Some days, you can be in a building, on the 2nd floor, drop an item to reshuffle your inventory, and you have to go downstairs and outside the building to find the item. Weird. No idea why this exists, but it does. My guess, the weapon is somewhere around your crash site, but you can't see it. I've dropped a protector case when I was hiding in a pine tree, and the case stayed in the air, resting on a limb. It could not be seen by my inventory tab, or picked up. I had to give up eventually and abandon it.

Seriously though it probably dropped behind/under the well mesh and you can't select it anymore, just as if it was in the next room.

It could glitch into ground or object and be visibly only partially or not at all.

Not exploiting. Its absolutely legit to hold a item in your hands if you don't have space to store it in your inventory. And its absolutely fine that you have to drop it before doing something else. The issue here is the desync/dissapearing items.

 

So I hope you won't lose items you are carrying when logging out - seems silly to me. I would be okay with it if they were to stay where you dropped them but with the current server reset cycles thats not possible. Of course carrying a big item like a rifle in your arms should affect your movement in a negative way.

When you have a weapon on back and one in hands, if you do anything else with your hands such as taking food/drink into them to eat/drink you drop the weapon in hands. You have to remember to pick your weapon back up. The caveat here is that when you drop something there's a bug where it might rubber band back somewhere you were recently. This happens to me a lot when I'm attempting to move to a bigger backpack - I sometimes have to go searching back along where I last walked to find my backpack. You'll have to do the same to look for your gun. Keep in mind there's also the bug where sometimes when you drop things they fall through the world or through floors of buildings.

 

In short, the way it's implemented today, if you've going to carry a long gun on back and one in hands, keep the one you're more fond of on your back because the one in hands can easily get lost due to a myriad of bugs.

No exploit but that aside 

 

If you drink something without putting your gun down first you will "drink" what´s in your hand so it disappears. Put your weapon down, drink and pick it up again. :)

sometimes I find them in a spot that a gun would normally spawn.....ie pick up a gun in police station walk across room and drop, sometimes gun will return to place where spawned

I wont because I dont need 2 guns..
