Weapon locations

I was going to make a topic about where you find AKM's but figured this could be a useful one to have pinned if people use it enough.

 

So whenever weapon drops are changed, post where you managed to find one basically so people looking to try out new ones have an idea of where to go.

 

But yeah use this topic to find where weapons spawn if people are kind enough to list.

 

 

Have a map ready to reference town names, there is a decent one here http://www.dayztv.com/map/#2.070.073 adjustable legend to find what you need.

 

Weapons and their spawn locations as of version 0.45/46 all of these locations are subject to change if the version listed here isn't the current one it may or may not be accurate:

 

 

High end and/or rare weapons

 

AKM's (assault rifle)

Military zones such as airfields, barracks, tents and other buildings in military type areas.

Their attachments also spawn in these areas, currently very frequently.

 

M4's (assault rifle)

Helicopter crash sites, consult a map to find them they're often out in the open so be careful and quick when looting. Their attachments and other gear also spawn there.

 

Average or common weapons

 

SKS (semi-auto rifle)

Various locations around the map, military zones, police stations and "piano" houses they're large white houses with green wallpaper on the inside and of course a piano, fairly common usually in bigger towns.

They almost always spawn in piano houses.

Sometimes garages and crashed/burned military vehicles.

You can't find it's attachments in various locations but frequently the long red buildings in the cafe type area, very commonly find bayonets and PU scopes there in the cafe area.

 

Mosin Nagant (bolt action rifle)

About as common as the SKS however it doesn't spawn in military locations as much, it can spawn in piano houses, police stations, garages and many other locations. Unless already taken you're almost certain to find at least one in every average sized town.

Attachments are the same as the SKS above however you can also put the Long Range Scope on the Mosin which makes it the games only sniper currently.

 

Double Barrel Shotgun(I'll look up the name later there's only one shotgun right now anyway)

Pretty much the same as the other two above currently. From my experience they can spawn in more farm type areas too they're somewhat less common than the SKS and Mosin, so far as I know.

 

If you find a hacksaw you can create a sawn off shotgun which will fit nicely in your backpack meaning you can have a weapon in the weapon slot and a shotgun.

 

Crossbow (...crossbow)

Police stations, military areas. Mostly the same as the others in the average section, frequent find but the bolts are another story.

 

MP5K

Spawns in police stations, all I know so far. I believe there's a 10 round and a 30 round mag currently so you need one of them to operate it effectively.

Pistols/Handguns

 

M1911

Military areas like airfields and barracks, fairly frequently. To use effectively you also need a magazine or you only get to load one round at a time, magazines tend to spawn in the same areas.

 

There's also a special engraved version with a white grip, found in the same places but slightly rarer. It is no different other than design.

 

FNX45

Military areas same as above they're fairly uncommon elsewhere, I've seen them in police stations on occasion. Attachments are in military areas generally.

 

Magnum

Once again military areas, very commonly but they can also spawn in piano houses, sheds, garages and other similar locations. Probably the most common of all the pistols/handguns or at least I find it to be.

 

Longhorn

Apparently it spawns in the hospital/admin type buildings on the top open floor they seem a fairly common drop. They already have a scope.

Other/craftable

 

Bow

You don't find these as far as I know, except dropped ones they don't spawn you have to make them.

They are made using an Ashwood Stick which you can either find laying around or get from cutting down Ashwood trees(look up a picture I don't have one handy) and rope. Rope can be found in many places, typically sheds, garages, places like that if it's somewhere you'd expect to find rope then it's probably somewhere it spawns.

Bows fire composite arrows I have found them at airfields and police stations so far.

 

Anything that isn't here, post about it and I'll at some point add it to the list when I notice. Try to keep it simple so I can post it in to a spoiler like I've been writing, for quickness.

Firstly, where the hell do you get AKM's? Is it just luck at airfields? I've found pretty much every attachment for them there but none of the guns themselves.

I don't even know what they sound like to use yet nobody has even shot me with one...

 

But yeah use this topic to find where weapons spawn if people are kind enough to list.

 

In future I'll probably edit this post to list them but someone who knows the map better would probably be better.

Usually any place military is your HIGHEST chance of finding them without having to go to helicopter crashes and crap like that. Low pop servers are your ultimatum for getting them and depending if doors are not open to the buildings that strengthens your chances greatly.

Not really, I mean there found in the Police Stations and you're probably thinking their rare because if your like me, we play on full servers all the time so most of the time Weapon loot spawns are almost always already looted . :P

I agree on that although I do like to burlap sack people who happen to stumble upon my domain in that nameless town...and then I strip them of everything they have, taunt them a little, then give them back everything with a little extra surprise. By surprise I mean ammo/food/weapon....that sort of thing and take the sack off their head. :)

So what about the pistols, where can people find them?

 

Airfields are where I find them mostly. I think I've found one 1911 at a police station but someone might have left it there.

I always seem to find longhorns in that open room on the top floor of 'generic office' buildings (like across from the police station in elektro).  I've found like 6 there.

 

AKMs I find in barracks.  I've had about 6 of those too, and I got them all playing very early in the morning.

 

found my first m4 since they became really rare just this morning too.  first helicopter crash I was the first player at.  got 2 coupled mags and about 100 rounds of ammo too.  currently carting that and an akm back to berezino - gonna leave one at the cop shop (haven't decided which yet) because carrying 2 rifles is inconvenient as hell.  oh and I have a longhorn with me too. XD

Thanks for the info so far guys, I'll polish up the OP as time goes on to look a bit more...official I guess but for now it gives you a general idea of where to look if you're clueless.

 

By the way, I have no idea what to call a certain building, they have 3 floors on the top in a small room they typically have various guns.

There's one across from the hospital in Berenzino, what do people call them here? They have a lot of shelving units and many open rooms.

I found 2 M4's at a heli crash just West of Balota(sp?). The magazine's and ammo are quite rare.

I also went through the Military base that is in the far West. Didn't find any weapons or military gear. All barracks doors were closed so no it hadn't been looted.

Unless the loiter had serious OCD.

I call the blue buildings with medical supplies clinics. Perhaps the building in question could be dubbed a health centre or clinic?

 

Sorry if this seems trivial just I think it's important we have a solid description for places else their locations in this thread mean nothing :P

 

 

If any mod/admin sees this and deems it worthy could you perhaps pin this topic? Maybe move it to a better location if necessary, if people are helpful enough it could be a very useful topic. I see the wisdom to waiting and seeing if it holds out first though.

I don't, I like to leave them open so people freak out and think someone is in the town when I'm loooong gone.

 

Or just close the doors of like one place so they think I'm hiding in there.

 

 

Potentially stupid question.

Do bows spawn anywhere? Or are they only craftable weapons? I suppose people will probably find dropped ones but I wonder if they spawn at all.

Guess I should add them to the OP to save endless "how do I make a bow" topics :lol:

Hmm, I'm not sure how it's an office either...

 

I see why you would call it a hospital though it's just one is next to a hospital so it would need a different name.

It seems like it could be some kind of pharmacy? All those shelves could be for pills and stuff...although why does a gun spawn in the top room, very confusing. It does seem like a pharmacy or hospital waiting room kind of place.

 

 

I guess someone should make a gallery of all the buildings with decent loot and their colloquial names so if we say "piano house" they can look that up in the gallery and know what the heck we mean...

That would be good I could link the OP to that for quickness.

 

If anyone has the free time and/or would consider it, it would be much appreciated.
