1st Person problems.

Recommended Posts

Currently in 1pp mode the camera is placed in the bottom of character neck and this makes crawling in 1pp mode unrealistically impossible.

Please move 1pp mode camera higher so that while crawling you can see above your characters back at least (like in real life you can while crawling).

When you are in 1pp mode your own character breathing, walking, running and all the gear clunking sounds are super loud, too loud.

It's mainly issue on 1pp only (hardcore) servers, it drives people crazy.

Reduce or add option to adjust loudness of character made sounds for self while for other players it stays same and normal.

I agree with this completely, more often than not I have jumped at the sound of my own footsteps.
It sometimes gets to the point of being scared of your own shadow.

I don't know how well it will work or how they will go about making it look good but I have a feeling it might create some weird clipping issues in 1pp.
Also it might force them to rework the whole ads thing, just like happnd in arma 3.

Please do rememebr to use the feedback-tracker, as that's where the QA and Devs are lurking about more than here on the forum. A single thread is easy to miss and issues like this aren't really forum-discussion material.

This is why I merged your threads. You're better off reporting everything on the actual bugtracker rather than the Forum. :)

I actually mistakenly used to think the breathing was because hardcore was, you know, more hardcore and stamina was reduced.

Oops ,I didn't realize your 2 suggestions were part of the same thread, I would have made a single post and quoted you properly >.<
Anyways, I like the suggestion on 1pp breathing etc, but I am doubtful weather or not moving the camera is a good idea.

Suggested this months ago. Other problems coming from this are - you cant aim and look over obstacles that you should definitely be able to. And the character feels too short compared to the environment.

Usually this is done to prevent head glitching - if your eyes were where they are supposed to be youll be able to shoot over obstacles with only your forehead showing which I admit could be a problem, but something should be done about the eye placement nonetheless.

Basically I agree, but the "1st-person-self-sound" should have a minimum volume. Being able to turn it off completely would be unrealistic since you could move and still be able to hear everything in your environment. Usually people (and animals) automatically freeze their movement when there is the sudden need of listening carefully.

Valid point.

Maybe then just reduce it in 1pp mode to something that you have in 3pp mode to be fair.

Actually I think I got scared by my own shadow one time :) .. I got shot and my vision was heavy blurred. I saw something moving down the hill near concrete fence. It is possible I fired at my own shadow :) This just show how well DAYZ is building up atmosphere and pressure. Love this game.
