Some Gun Suggestions

Recommended Posts

Ive seen many "milspec-delta-spetsnaz-mlgtactical" gun suggestions, and Ive seen many "youralluntrainedidiotsweneedall22s"

So heres my hunters two cents

HANDGUNS

American Derringer -38 Special

Beretta M9- 9 mil

.38 Undercover- 38 Special

FN Five Seven- 5.7x28mm

Glock 19- .45 Acp (IRL its G.A.P but lets use acp for sake of the devs)

Mark XIX Desert Eagle- 50 AE (To satisfy the tactical guys)

Rossi Ranch Hand- 44 magnum

1911-22 (22 caliber 1911, I think we need a 22 pistol. This is it because the devs dont have to add a new model, and maybe even not a reskin)

SHOTGUNS

Mossberg 500- 12 gauge pump. Has tons of attachments, is civilian oriented but used by the army. Can even be "tacticalized"

Browning A5- 12 gauge semi auto

RIFLES

Steyr Arms Mannlicher Pro Hunter- 308

Springfield 1903- 30-06

Remington 700-308

Ruger American Rifle- 308

Sako Kodiak- 338 win mag

Springfield M1A standard ("vanilla" m14)

Henry Rifle- 45 colt, maybe say 7.62x39 for ease?

And for the tacticool guys

Scar, beretta arx160, fn fal, steyr aug, g36, g22

And for those convinced were all half wit unskilled idiots despitr the fact that "This is DayZ, this is YOUR story"

1853 enfield musket, crockett pistol, blunderbus

Ruger Ranch Mini-14/Mini-30, ammo's already in.  Also there's not much tactical about the DEagle, but people will whine and beg.  Maybe if they add in the .357 model so they won't be adding .50AE just for the DEagle.

If they ever put the FN Five-seven, I would love to have an FN P90. (As a very rare heli crash site spawn only.) But that's just me. ;)

Good suggestions anyway!

You sir, deserve my beans. Not many people know about Rugers. I meant to add that, but the old phone is aggravatin to type on. You also know the Deagles birthplace, more beans. It doesnt even have to be in .357, theres a line of deagles in 40, 45, 9 mil and even 380 auto. And most people dont know what tactical is, to them its "rail system on mah 22 an a deagle plain cuz I is thug yo" When in reality its a laser on the rail, maybe a foregrip.

And I love the five seven, and the p90 would make sense, if a seperate Uk heli crash or overrun patrol is added. And havin FNs isnt gonna be "stupid cause a fictional country noone knows much about in a fictional zombie apocolypse isnt gonna have that cause I said its not realistic" because we already have the FNX 45.

From my understanding the Israeli army didn't adopt it because the guys who field tested it said it was just draining to fire.  It's heavy and has a lot of recoil for a pistol.  It's a gun you carry if you want to kill/scare off a bear.  And did not know that they offered the Deagle in lower calibers, I knew they offered .50 AE, .44 Mag and .357 Mag for the 'base' model, and there were lookalikes that others sold in different calibers.  I mentioned using the .357 version because the Devs have recently said they want to compress the different types of ammo, so we don't have say 20 different guns and 15 different types of ammo (IE the Makarov in SA will use 9x18 Luger rather than 9x19 mak, the mosin and draganov will use 7.62x51 rather than 54r, and the AK74 will use 5.56 rather than 5.45).  And for the Deagle, why have this big ass heavy gun if you're gonna fire 'weak' (I use that word loosely) ammo.

The Desert Eagle should be loud enough to draw every zombie for 50 miles.

I highly doubt that.  This is a .50AE not a .50BMG.  It's big but it's not THAT big.

As far as I know that pistol was developed solely for the civilian market. What you're describing sounds like the stories of both the Mars and Brigadier pistols.

G19 isn't in 45 GAP its 9mm, its either the G37 standard, G38 compact or G39 subcompact. The 37 is ok to fire but the 38 and 39 are just awful, tons of recoil, muzzle flip and reduced accuracy due to that plus G.A.P ammo is damned expensive and difficult to get hold of unless you load your own. The G21 is in .45 ACP and is a much nicer Glock to shoot, nice smooth push and good in the hand, they also have a tasty throw away silencer that can be attached to it.

Personally wouldn't touch a Desert Eagle if you paid me its heavy, loud, inaccurate and for wannabes and those that think they know what tactical is. A USM1 carbine weighs less than a .50 desert eagle, the smaller models in 9mm etc are Jerichos not Desert Eagles and the only thing similar is the shape, more or less, of the slide.

Five Sevens are rare as it is and though a great pistol to fire the ammo is very difficult to come across rarer than hens teeth really. P90 is a specialised weapon used mainly by spec ops, gov CPO teams and the occasional contractor so really don't see where that will come into the game at all? there is a civilian version it has a long barrel quite a bit longer than the military version.

As for the tacticool, as you put it, weapons well the only one in there that even should be remotely put in the game for me should be the FN FAL as its been widely distributed around the world (lovely weapon to fire and DS arms do a great modernised version). The G36 has been around for a while and could be possible as with the mini 14, the ARX160 and Scar are not widely used or distributed but hell while we're at it why not add the FN2000 and Famas F2 while we're at it.

As for the other choices got no probs with them, I would even add the Remington 870 as another alternative shotgun as it is also widely distributed in both military and civilian circles and the Tikka T3 rifle in some of its versions.

Well quite true Gews this weapon would never even be considered by military forces and was as you say designed solely for the civilian market. To be quite honest its a damned awful weapon, huge, heavy and unweildly but for some reason some people get a hard on thinking about it.

G19 comes.in several calibers. They dont make a new gun for.every.caliber, the.just use.the existing platform to.rechamber it

The good thing about adding the Ruger Mini 14 is that the Devs wouldn't need to change the dispersion model from that of the current M4 model as they don't hold a zero worth a damn.

Go check again bud, you obviously have never handled or fired a Glock in your entire life. The Glock 19 comes in one caliber and one caliber only and that is 9mm. Also don't tell me that they are all the same because they are not, the dimensions are different hence different gun, different slide (yes the slide is redimensioned) and different name. Its like saying a G17 can fire 45ACP when clearly it can't.

But this is about a game that we play so not going to get into the arguement about rechambering pistols, dimensions, pressure tolerances, silde and frame tolerances, accuracy, ballistics etc. It is what it is so just call it right its a Glock 38. I'm sure you wouldn't dream of calling an AR15 a glorified M16 just with the bells and whistles. If we want this game to be precise and as realistic as possible then shouldn't we also be as accurate as possible?
