sea fishing (beach casting)

irl i like going beach casting  (sea fishing from beach) to catch bass at night(day works too) and it woudl be amazing to be able to do it in dayz.

try and catch a 3 lb bass , or maybe catch nothing, which would be more realistic.

you need a 12' beach caster and a fixed spool reel, and tackle, and rag worm, which you can dig on beach or coastal area. prob never goan happen, i just dont like fresh water fishing, and chenarus does have a lot of beach.. :) i bet rify would be a good spot

 

does the tide actually go in and out on dayz? i dotn think it does, does it? never actually paid attention, but that would be another suggestion in itself.

Sounds like a fun/good idea, but it's low priority compared to some of the major bugs and content that the game NEEDS to ensure it keeps striding forwards. There's already talks of fishing being added anyway along side hunting animals.. And don;t you think you'd be a sitting duck if fishing were to be added onto the coast? Best off keeping it inland as there are plenty of little lakes in Chernarus. Dem bandits would love to catch prey of their own if people were fishing at the coast ;)

Don't mind Saunders, he goes around the forums shooting down all "low priority suggestions" what ever the hell those are.

I think beach casting could be interesting, but it's a hell of a good way to get shot

Could be cool to see fishing boats that are equipped with nets and stuff. Could be a way to catch a large number of fish.. of course you'd stick out like a sore thumb out in the sea, so a boat could be sent after you, or a group could wait for you when you hit the shore.

 

I'd like to see Utes (the island from Arma 2) acting as a high loot area ( I seem to recall Utes being pretty small and there being a couple of bases on it). Obviously it'd only really be accessible by boat or by helicopter, but I think it'd be a high-risk loot area. Would be a whole lot of pvp there too, I'd bet.

yeah im not minding him at all haha

anyway yeah would be a good way to get shot , if you were in a busy area, especially in these early days of the game. im sure some spots would develop as more suitable and defensible. risk reward/teamwork, etc.

The low priority suggestions are the ones that should be implemented into the game after the high priority suggestions such as ways to get around the map quicker and bases.. I don't "shoot down" these ideas, i simply say they should be added after the high prio ones. If you read the rest of my post you would also see that I wrote a whole paragraph on whether the idea was good or not.. 

 

No need to be such a stuck up prick about things buddy, doesn't get you anywhere! ;)

just noticed in the changelog http://steamcommunity.com/games/221100/announcements/detail/1388547564033640511 it says

 

Actions : You can go fishing (ponds and lakes for this moment)

 

so maybe we will be able to do sea fishing in future, wonder if they read this topic?

 

i just hope they let us try to catch  sea bass with 10lb bass being super rare and also good/bad spots to fish
