Loopest 60 Posted May 27, 2014 BEFORE I SAY ANY OF THISI fully understand this game is in the early stages of Alpha, and I get to expect bugs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, after twice walking to Northwest Airfield and randomly dying while walking on a road, I decided to talk about incomplete and possible long time issues that have not been addressed. Incomplete textures are not acceptable. Even though it is in Alpha, why didn't the team complete the textures? It's gonna take longer to repair/remake the textures that it would to just test and complete all of them. I mean sinking through the floor/dying when spawning in is not a random bug, it is an incomplete texture. Please fix this bug, as it seems to get more and more common with each update. Etherious 907 Posted May 27, 2014 Having incomplete textures wouldn't cause you to fall through the ground/die. :3
Irish. 4886 Posted May 27, 2014 they are completely remaking/overhauling the renderer.
Loopest 60 Posted May 27, 2014 they are completely remaking/overhauling the renderer. Is that explainable in a simplistic way?
kichilron 8550 Posted May 27, 2014 Is that explainable in a simplistic way? Incomplete textures aren't the cause of your problems. It's a bug.
Irish. 4886 Posted May 27, 2014 Is that explainable in a simplistic way? you mean more simplistic than they are completely remaking the game renderer? I wouldnt know how to do that. :|

TheLoneSurvivior 37 Posted May 27, 2014 (edited) Is that explainable in a simplistic way? you mean more simplistic than they are completely remaking the game renderer? I wouldnt know how to do that. :|I could!Rendering is the process of generating an image from a model (or models in what collectively could be called a scene file), by means of computer programs. Also, the results of such a model can be called a rendering. A scene file contains objects in a strictly defined language or data structure; it would contain geometry, viewpoint, texture, lighting, and shading information as a description of the virtual scene. The data contained in the scene file is then passed to a rendering program to be processed and output to a digital image or raster graphics image file. If this doesn't explain it then i dont know.Source: Wikipedia.Edit: pls give me sum beans, im extremely hungry. A texture is just a picture that is "Stretched" over a model/mesh, and doesn't affect collision detection/the shape of the model in any way shape or form. It's more of an incomplete/bugged model, in which case ,yes it is a bug. And, yes, it will be fixed- provided you submit and recreate your issue to the bugtracker instead of complaining here.

I could have easily described textures and rendering also. But he wanted a more simplistic explanation for the fact that they are remaking the entire rendering process, well.. I mean how do you simplify that? Oh, I figured it out. Alpha, things are changing so disregard any and all concerns of current issues regarding in game bugs.
randomspawn 215 Posted May 27, 2014 They are in the process of fully changing the way the game is rendered.Actually the entire game DayZ SA is merely a placeholder for a future game called DayZ SA+. That game is expected to enter Alpha stage next year, probably between January and December. It will have a relatively short development cycle, with an alpha of just 13 months followed by beta, which should be less than twice that. Early rumor says persistent space shuttles will be added at the end of beta.
Tyrianrage 39 Posted May 27, 2014 "Alpha, things are changing so disregard any and all concerns of current issues regarding in game bugs. " But aren't we supposed to be part of the testing process? You may want to edit that. But yes, recreate the bug you experienced and report it promptly, IF you report it, it SHOULD be fixed... EVENTUALLY.
