Crows Are Coming

Crows will be coming to DayZ. Found the audio files in the pbo's. Considering we have all these new animals, I thought it was interesting enough to make a thread about it.

 

Curious if they'll be huntable or when body despawn timers are removed if they will peck on dead player bodies. That would be really cool imho.

not just cows,chickens,deer,rabbits,fish,worms,many more.

 

yes you can kill them skin them cook them eat them

 

there are flying birds not sure if that's new, and not sure if you can shoot the flying birds. i tried but i'am a horrid shot.

I hope that birds would break into flight when somebody startled them!

 

Imagine going through woods and all of the sudden, birds would fly up into the sky....that would surely make a lot of players go prone or hide in the bush, holding their rifle in sweaty palms :-D.

Probably inherited ogg files.

I've used them in association with WP's / Triggers and script calls in the past (ArmA / ArmAII).

Same as barking dog (player near kennel / crying cockerel (player enters farm), crow was used for enemy entering player zone.

Drunk soldiers throwing empty bottles when setting off on a dangerous mission !

Actually those new Gorka pants coming out look EXTREMELY hunter like in appearance and everything believe it or not.

 

And yeah i dont think iv seen any cornfields yet in game.

It'd be awesome to replace the fly sound with Crows which when you go over to the body they fly away!. That's an awesome thought.

quite awhile ago someone posted a video to a script made in Dayz that spawned a murder of flying crows..

 

cant find the video on Utub now, but it was freaky.. the problem was it was hard of the server apparently..

 One of the best moments my partner and i had in the mod was when a hecker spawned a huge murder of crows, they flew in and over the top of us when we were inland in a field, we shit bricks and legged it for cover not knowing wtf was happening as we had never seen it before. Freakily cool and eerie just on sunset.
