Second "Game" listing in Steam for Experimental

Recommended Posts

I see many games like DOTA 2, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, and all of the Call of Duty games have multiple listing in the steam library.  For DOTA 2 and Chivalry, these are used to provide completely separate installs of the unreleased next version of the game for testing.

Would it be possible for you to offer this as a secondary download instead of as a toggle-able option on the "production" install?  I personally have the space to accommodate two installs of the game.  I would also like to try the new stuff, but switch back if a friend who doesn't want to go experimental wants to play.

They should really do this. You might want to post this on Reddit so the devs actually read it.

I was hanging out at an undisclosed London tube station one quiet evening, while waiting for the piccadilly line. Out of the blue, two large jet black crows (apparently hungry and looking for food) landed a few feet in front of me. Now this was the first time I had actually ever had the chance to really examine these magnificent predators up close, so I made this experience count.

Upon close up inspection of my Avian friends, a thought that popped into my mind was how terrifying these birds of prey might be if they hunted humans in large swarms. It didn't take me long to realize what a marvelous addition to DayZ these creatures could potentially be!

Birds such as these could dwell on the edge of tree lines facing large patches of clearing. They would lay in wait for the unsuspecting traveler to break out of forest, upon which time they unleash their fury in massive numbers.

The only recourse for the helpless traveler would be to run for cover, or, if they had a shotgun, to unleash some birdshot in their general direction.

Comments? Beans?

I think you are in the wrong thread.

Not a bad idea. Would be nice to be able to switch between builds without a 10 minute download every time. Yes, my connection here is that bad...

It's funny, because there is actually a second listing on the Steam library for the DayZ Mod, so I don't see why this wouldn't be possible for stable and experimental releases.

(They also have one for A2:OA and the A2:OA Beta, so they could definitely do it for separate installs)

Hello there

It would be nice if it were an option. As not all of us are privileged enough to have acres of free hdd space, so it would be nice just to download for many.
