Ever monitor a town from afar via long range scope or binoculars?

All I can say is that people are pretty messed up. I've witnessed some pretty crazy stuff. Here's a short list:

• Dude jumps off water tower onto zed (maybe he thought it would die?). Breaks legs, zed proceeds to kill him.
• 3 guys run into town all together, 2 gang up on one of them, then the other back stabs his friend. 1 guy walks out of town alive.
• 2 guys hold up a fresh spawn in the middle of the street. Another fresh spawn sneaks in behind the buildings and watches/listens, and lays down prone so as not to be detected. The 2 bandits finally blow their captive away and proceed south on the road. The hidden guy gets up and proceeds north unscathed. (big reminder that whenever you think you're alone you're probably NOT)
• 4 assorted guys (look like a random lot) meet up in the middle of a town and look to be talking and being silly. I fire one shot and they literally scatter like bees. I observe them zigging and zagging trying to find out where the shooter is. Finally one of them starts killing the others, and gets one of them before I lose sight of the rest.
• 1 guy climbs one of those round water towers. He's got just a construction helmet and ax, and is standing there looking around. I hear a shot and he's down, dead. I never see the shooter.
• 1 guy seems to have another held up, and cuffed. He runs off and leaves the cuffed guy. The cuffed guy is on his knees struggling and a zed comes along and kills him.
• 2 man team and 3 man team meet for an epic showdown. It ends with 1 survivor, but he's got broken legs. Apparently none of his friends have morphine nor a stick, I watch him crawl around for a while and finally he starts crawling down the highway and I lose interest because it took him nearly 15 minutes to make it that far.
• 1 guys is looting and another armed with what looks like a SKS runs into town. The SKS guy blows the looter away, and begins searching his body, then SKS guy starts going house to house himself. I hear a shot, and SKS guy goes down. A shooter comes out of the woods, well geared, and loots SKS guy and disappears back into the woods. I took that as a sign I should move further away the opposite direction through the woods.
• I literally see a guy spawn on the coast, he runs to the road and immediately encounters a zed. He goes bare boxing, standing completely still and going toe to toe with the zed. He eventually loses and dies, I see him bleeding out and the zed derp walks away down the street like a triumphant champion. This might have been the saddest one I saw, if only he knew to strafe and move his feet a little, he would have survived.

Seriously, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Get some good optics - binoculars, a long range scope, or something, and go "survivor watching" someday, it gets pretty interesting. You've got to find a good high concealed spot though!

The craziest thing I witnessed through binoculars was a fresh spawn(he only had what looked like a machete), run into the police station while getting shot at. He closed the doors behind him and I see two fully geared bandits run up to the police station, stand outside for a few minutes and then rush in. I hear a crap load of shots go off in the police station so I assume he was dead. Well, a few minutes later, one guy comes running out and it looks like the fresh spawn(with an M4 and a backpack). He just goes on his way, like nothing happened, disappearing into another building and I never see him again. 

 

So of course, I eventually make my way down to the police station and I see 2 dead bodies inside, which I presume were the bandits. So yeah, I don't know how, but I am pretty sure a fresh spawn, armed with only a machete, killed two bandits who were armed with guns. Hats off to that guy....whoever that was..

I just wish I could've been a fly on the wall inside the police station and witnessed it all first hand because that can't be an easy feat. Killing two armed bandits that chased you into a building and all you have is a machete. Unless he got extremely lucky and found a gun and matching ammo as soon as he got in there...

Sat on the radio tower overlooking the NEAF one night. The endless stream of server hoppers was pretty funny. I did catch a couple firefights but mostly it was an endless stream of Portal players.

Yea I love that shit. I don't even server hop for loot anymore. I server hop to get into a good gun fight or catch some camping snipers overlooking the airfield.

Witnessed a 6vs5 clan war ( I assume) at NEAF. Was pretty amazing. Shame I wasn't on my recording PC when it happened.

Too bad you can't combine duct tape with a radio to create a hidden microphone. just set them all around town and listen in on people.... or come back later shit-faced drunk and play marco polo with yourself.

I think he must have found a gun. Or those two guys must have been completely useless, because the machete is a rather lousy weapon for killing players in game (fists are more useful).

I was strolling past the east side of Elektro. I scouted the area before and I concluded that the area was not looted because there were too many zombies. So, there's a guy walking into the area, a zombie starts chasing him, guy pulls out his SKS and starts shooting. After that, tons of Zombies started running towards his position and he continued shooting with his SKS instead of using his axe or running away.

At one moment, the guy was surrounded by 15 zombies and he died. I laughed so hard when I saw the 100 zombies running towards his direction after the first shot.
