There are 19 distinct projectile weapons in the Standalone so far, or confirmed to be inbound (FNX, Amphibia S, CZ 75, M1911, P1, Longhorn, Magnum, IZH-43, M4A1, Mosin, SKS, AKM, B95, Sporter, Crossbow, Bow, SVD, 870/MP-133, MP5K). Bear in mind, I left out the AK-74 and Mauser, as we saw them fairly early on and haven't heard of them since. I'm mainly talking about projectile weapons (firearms and bows). By going through the assets we have in the game there should be roughly 20-23 weapons in the mod. I have obviously not included M9 and M9SD, because they're the same, really - considering the attachment system. Only counted weapons like the M4 once as well, even though there are a few different variants in the mod. If you consider the attachmentsystem there aren't that many weapons in the mod, really. We're working on adding a few more, though. I did the same! I lumped the AK-74s together, same with the Sa-58s, M4s, M16s, DMR/M14, M24/M40, G36s, SVDs, FALs, and others. hombrecz 832 Posted May 23, 2014 (edited) That all sounds nice and dandy untill Devs clearly stated, that they do not want to have so many different calibers.I mean NOT wanting to introduce 5,45x39mm AK74 is simply blowing my mind and comment, that Vz.58 is not distinctive enough to make it into the game (even if they constantly remind us of using Czech Rep as setting) is making me very sad and a bit disappointed. But yeah, it can be just me I guess. I still love SA, it's just that more and more decisions the Devs take is starting to irk me. I really love the civilian style weapons, and mainly use them myself, but fighting guys gets a bit dull when they're all running either m4s or mosins. Soon it will be AKMs and Mosins I guess, but I'd just like a wider variety of military grade weapons to go up against. So for instance, while I think the longhorn is cool as shit and I am 100% glad they're adding it, it's not going to change the pvp scene much.We'll get there eventually though, and I'm perfectly willing to wait. They're on a decent pace of adding guns. This is why the sporter and most of the pistols are useless. Not really, for pvp you're better off with nearly any other rifle than a sporter. In the case of pistols, unless you're clearing a house and you only have a mosin, you're better off using an sks/assault rifle. It has very little to do with finding the mags. Players gravitate towards the "best" weapons, as it stands that's m4/mosin/sks, with m4s and mosins being more prevalent than SKS. M4s are pretty much the current king of close and midrange engagements due to high capacity mags, mosins are for sniping, and the sks is a nice alternative for some people. I know I sure can... And the objective of this thread is to highlight two things... One, that the mod didn't have all that many weapons in the first place.
