I was in the same situation earlier, but spoke to the person, chatted shit about the game & the world cup coming up, he sorted me out for some kit I was looking for.. then we went on our way, the fan kept everyone chilled no shit hit it at all, wished each other GL and headed on..

It reaaaally depends. If I'm a fresh spawn that somehow found a mosin and a box of ammo right before this, and I essentially have nothing to lose, I'd probably try getting a headshot. If we're both completely kitted out, I'd go for the headshot. If I have more gear than the other person, it's bandit time (walk up behind them, attempt to peacefully subdue, otherwise shoot if noncompliant) or if we're both reasonably geared (but not completely) I'd test my luck saying "Hi!" with my gun on them.

as a general rule, shoot you. after all, if he does see you first, you are dead. better to eliminate any possible threat. unless you are a care bear, then by all means, chat him up and maybe you can eat some bamboo together.

Him rocking two separate primaries just screams "I'm a KOS-murderer!" to me, as there is little reason otherwise to use two primaries.

I would avoid (meaning, leave the town immediately) if possible. If push comes to shove, and detection is imminent, I would take him out as quietly as possible, to avoid drawing further attention to myself. 

 

Him using two primaries (I am assuming a Mosin and an M4 combo) suggests that he doesn't have any backup, but as Dark Heresy says," Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean there ISN'T a sniper on the top of that hill....." Better safe than sorry, as these murderhobos tend to wander in packs.

That's a risky move, looting in the open, so assume that he is not alone. Go running out there and his friend, who is watching from a building window, will take you out. Take cover and scope out the nearby windows carefully. Or, avoid and watch from a safer vantage point. Either way, be on high alert.

interesting answers guys, thanks for sharing....

since it's so close to an airfield, i figured most would KOS or avoid to prevent confrontation but the fun of the game is figuring out what the other person may or may not do....sometimes you die and sometimes you have an interesting story to share. i really hate having to KOS but i am sadly realizing more and more, it just may be necessary in certain areas of the map. if you had a buddie with you, guess one of you could try greeting him (waving) without a gun just to see how he reacts, if he starts shooting you without even having a gun in your hand - have your buddy standing by take him out quick but you may die in the process, quite the fun gamble. ive met plenty of ppl in the game that turned out to be cool and friendly.
