Can bleeding cause death?

From what I understand, blood and health levels are both at 5000. When you get knocked unconscious, your shock level is either greater than your blood level or you have under 500 blood. You will die when you have 0 health. But apparently, bleeding doesn't doesn't cause health levels to drain. You can have a blood level of 0, some health, and be resuscitable. 

 

So why do some of my buddies die while unconscious before I can give first aid? Is it because they're respawning and not telling me? I can usually tell nobody is attacking them because we make sure the area is clear.

But bleeding out doesn't affect health levels, which is what actually causes you to die.

I am positive if you leave yourself bleeding, you are going to die.

This ^^^ many patches ago is was possible to bleed out and not die just lay unconcious till aided or respawn but now when blood hit 0 it gives your health 1 final kicker and dead. Its awlays a good idea to keep some what upto date with current game as the method you speak of has been gone for atleast 2 months now easily..

I was looking through the changelog and this might be it:

 

• Medical: Would never actually die from zero health or blood due to medical conditions
