Irish. 4886 Posted May 17, 2014 So.. if you want a challenge from the Zeds. Go give the vanilla mod a try. I recommend official server # 3480. Use the dayz commander launcher if you're not familiar with playing the dayz mod. Here is a video to show you what you can expect from the Zombies in the mod. Eventually after this video ends, I was overwhelmed inside the South barracks. Ran out of ammo after about 20-30 of them just kept coming in.. so many. I got hit, then got sepsis (a blood infection that kills if not cured quickly), and in the end knocked the hell out by a zed as I was trying to run past them in a desperate attempt to run for my life. DropBearChick 1217 Posted May 17, 2014 Yeah on the dev server there even harder, its great the mod has really come a long way especially since 1.8 plus the zombie aggro works well, they dont ghost, and the respawn mechanic is good plus they drop loot and dont combat log my only problem with them is how fast they hit you when you run past em, eg a crawling z ombie, i run past teleports to standing position whilst i get hit by it. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
-Gews- 7443 Posted May 17, 2014 Mmm I played a lot of 3480 these past couple months and I can't remember getting killed by zombies. Usually I don't even use a melee weapon and I rarely shoot at them. You can walk by within mere yards and they hop around you with unseeing eyes. In fact, the only times I was really injured by zombies was when I tried to hatchet the glitchy things instead of ignoring them. Even in the mod, just a mere annoyance IMO! Now DayZero... first time I played that I got killed by zombies twice in rapid succession. phL (DayZ) 63 Posted May 20, 2014 zeds in 1.8.0.3 are no threat imo, just cosmetic player alert.. unless they would remove melee completely ;-) i liked the insanely fast zeds on earlier build on dev server. a real threat and stealthy play was king. but not anymore since they turned them into even epoch player appealing pets again...
