Death By Crowbar 1213 Posted May 14, 2014 Just run like hell in an eradic random pattern so noone can get a bead on you in towns, never stop for long, eat food and drink in the middle of nowhere, stick to tree lines when possible, only trust people you actually know or those who've traveled with you for at least one town (that's a lot of time to waste being a secret threat). As a loner that's all I live by. Oh, that and use binoculars a lot, since they've been added it helps.
Irish. 4886 Posted May 14, 2014 Ever tried training Afghan National Police? Still, they persist that squatting is a good firing position.ROFL.. you got me there man ;)
Hetstaine 10852 Posted May 14, 2014 Finger four works just as well on the ground as it did in the air. I see so many groups just follow line astern or in a blob of dudes.
jediprostidude 2 Posted May 14, 2014 Sorry but it doesn't matter how good you are, if you are regularly in fights you will end up dying. Unless you're just sniping at dudes and running away at the first sign of trouble. If that's what you're into that's fine, but I wouldn't call those fights. I mean it's not difficult to stay alive if you avoid confrontation, and there's nothing wrong with that, but I'm going to go ahead and say bullshit on never even dying once if you regularly engage in actual fights. It has nothing to do with going in spraying and praying or CoD. You simply can't win them all. I do agree and not saying i wont die but as of yet i have not. Couple of good scares though :) And me and my m4 get all cuddly while waiting for whoever was shooting at us to come inside to check gear :D
emigrates 261 Posted May 14, 2014 ROFL.. you got me there man ;)I've got a cracking photo of one of our lads taking up a firing position and an ANP just sat there squatting trying to aim down sight when his AK is pretty much resting on his hip. We tried, we gave up.
Fuerii 26 Posted May 14, 2014 I'm not very tactful , but I strive to be more tactical.
Dagwood 680 Posted May 14, 2014 If you're playing 3rd person, the only guaranteed to work tactic is to stand behind solid cover, have someone else watching your back from begin equally solid cover, and periscope to discern the location of your targets/assailants. No need for suppressing fire. No need for well executed fire and maneuver... Maneuvers. Just don't be seen and wait. But why do I play tactically while playing on hardcore? I do it because, like others have said, seeing your enemy before they see you is 80% of the battle. Thinking and moving tactically gives you the best chance of survival. Probably why soldiers with their lives on the line don't pretend it isn't important.
Fuerii 26 Posted May 14, 2014 What dagwood says in his first paragraph is exactly why I play hardcore. I wish it was called something different, though. I'd be willing to bet many players on the newer side avoid hardcore because of the name when in reality the only difference is the disabling of third person perspective. I don't know if there will be more differences in the future.I find myself having much more fun knowing that if an enemy can see me then I can also see them. Looking around corners with a third person camera really undermines a lot of tactical behavior. Hardcore for life!
UltimateGentleman 355 Posted May 14, 2014 I find it hilarious when people try to act badass doing military formations and stuff. What I do is just run around people with my weapon down, aggravate them, run away somewhere, take my gun out and then shoot them when they come round the corner. It's also hilarious how easy it is to dodge bullets in close range, the no weapon run speed is insane you're like Usain Bolt in every direction in an instant so very hard to shoot especially with lag and guns just generally having crap aim. Basically I just abuse how limited aspects of the gameplay are in order to get a rise out of people who think they're cool. Employing these tactics I only die if a sniper gets a lucky shot, I run up some stairs(so of course my guy slows down and walks...) or I happen to run in to a tight corridor someone is aiming down. It's a lot of fun, once I ran in to 3 guys near a farm who as per usual just instantly shot at me, ran away round the farm took out my Sporter and chambered it, kept taking shots at them and then just running right past them with the gun away. They must have collectively wasted like 100 rounds trying to kill me with their M4's, got hit 3 times but survived fine. As far as I'm concerned there's more value to playing to win and annoying people than playing it like it's real life, it is a barely realistic game after all.
