Environment wishlist

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Since there are many wishlists for things like weapons etc. I thought a wishlist for environment effects would be great too.

I thought about weather conditions like rain or day/night cycle, but also about "events" or "happenings" which are not directly related to the weather. This wouldn't just change the experience of Day Z and make the world more "realistic" it would also make each server more unique since, the conditions aren't synchonized.

My ideas so far:

- Fog; --> with different visibility ranges (this should affect zombies too)

- Tides; --> could make some sunken ships visible with special loot (probably could lead to some difficulties when spawning in high tide)

- Hot sun; --> makes the character more thirsty (could also have an effect on stamina, if implemented)

- Zombie hordes; --> there could be one on each server moving over the map (probably also problems with respawning, if inside a horde)

- Recently crashed helicopters; --> Visible because of rising smoke, again special loot

i heard that random, dynamic events were trashed, but thats still something i wish for. i want world events, random, centrally controlled per hive, not per server, dynamic.

examples could include:

a derelict cargo ship crashing into the shore, slowly falling apart over the course of one hour, giving its special loot to the waves: go swim out for a chance of rare items spawning only during this event, because otherwise they sink with the ship and are gone.

a vicious storm, reducing visibility to few meters, carrying deadly debris, reducing your movement speed to a crawl, raging for half an hour. find shelter when it begins, or prepare to die from impact of cows, zombies, cargo trucks and trees. adventurous players (preferably with hardhats) could try to snatch some of the more valuable debris brought by the storm into chernarus before it is swept up and away again (no sharknados, please)

when player met other players they dont know, there is a random event. i hoped for helicrash sites but they said it should be all playergenerated.. zombie hordes are planned, as far as i heard

I know its not random but I would love to hear survivor's scream(s) in the distance in the middle of the night .. being eaten by zombies perhaps... but anything like that  imagine running through a forest at night and you hear some poor bastard screaming in the town only half a click away.. obviously something like this should and would only trigger if you are completely overrun and encumbered with 4-5 eating the victim on the ground.

Draisines

There could be one on each server. The position of the draisine could be where ever the last player, that used it, left it. Just a movable object with needs to players to operate.

This could be an interesting object because it should usually attract players, which makes the area, where the draisine is located, more dangerous, even though it's not a city.

Maybe the draisine could be found at a certain place after a server restart.

i havent travelled all of cheranus yet, so if there are no mountains with snow covered tops I'd wish one giant mountain in the north with that!

also one giant river, it's source on top of the mountain i mentioned, flowing into the sea. with several bridges and small ports along the river

more to add soon

Yes this would be awesome ! I've always wanted more geography in this game it's too plain looking .. I think dayz celle had a river which was nice, and I've always wanted cliffs right next to the water :)
