Press vests and anti-stab vests

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! So I got a quick question, what is the best place to find press and anti-stab vests? I have been switching atleast 20 empty servers at the boat (yes I switch server for gear,so sue me.) and I've also been switching atleast 10 times at the train station in Svetloyarsk and I have still not encountered these item. Could anyone tell me where or how to find these vests? Thanks!

i never switch server and i have found 2 pristine press vests in my time, finding items as you survive on populated servers  makes them worth having, in my view. why do you switch servers, dont you feel it destroys the point of playing dayz?

Personally, I don't - I gave up on collecting and saving items since I prefer playing the game under pressure. Nothing feels worse than getting all this equipment, getting to NEAF and getting shot, losing it all. So now I make sure I get the bare minimum and then run to Berezino/NEAF. If I die, I don't care - if I stay alive, I'm alive for another day, time to get more food and water.

all that matters is staying alive, items dont matter, you can just find what you need as you go along.

how are you playing under pressure if you dont care about dying? there is no pressure if you are not trying to stay alive?

Maybe I worded that incorrectly haha, the game for me, feels like much more of a heart ache and a bunch in the bollocks if I die when I'm fully kitted out. I've lost count how many times I've had a hunters back pack with 4 protection cases of food, 2 ammo boxes for my M4 and 2 medkits. Logged in and found I'm dead because someone just happened to be on my position and slotted me. I prefer to fight light now, making the most of what I got at hand, slotting someone from afar and taking their stuff instead :D

A buddy gave me a press vest on regular. Think he told me it was from a train station.

Stole a worn one on HC, then killed another person for a pristine one.

Found a damaged press vest in experimental .44 in THE POLICE STATION (of Elektro). A zombie hit me and it upgraded to pristine.

And you don't want an anti-stab vest unless you're going for looks. It doesn't actually block damage, but it prevents bleeding (something the Press Vest also does, along with block bullets). The stab vest also has no slots. If anyone wants stats they're here:

Here's what my lineup looked like before I got rekt:

Anyone else feel like the Anti-stab vest should be equipable even underneath a vest?

Personally I'd like to see the ability to wear a jacket OVER a shirt (tactical shirt, check-shirt, etc), to increase carrying space.  I think this would be a good balance between not being able to wear a Tactical Vest over a down jacket, etc, and would provide some extra protection for those who are able to field both.  I like how the anti-stab vest goes into your "clothing" items since it has no room for items, I'd just like to see the ability to still wear a tactical vest OVER that :D

Sorry for changing the topic a bit, but does the press vest actually have better ballistic protection than the assault vest?

Everyone does it yet so few admit to it.

I can guarantee 100% that all the self righteous bottom feeders that claim to hate server hopping do it everyday.

On topic : I found my press vest in a police station.

Off topic : I admit to server hopping for the first 2 days of gameplay. Since then, the only time I switch is to avoid the dark.

Yes. The salt vests and most other vest items have 0 ballistic protection.

The ballistic helmet has 1.5, which blocks up to 5.56x45mm.

And the press vest has 2.0, which (from my own testing anyways) blocks one shot of 7.62x51mm.

My assault vest saved me from a single mosin round...

My press which I found later, let me survive 2-3 SKS rounds...

I find mine on top of police cars they blend in with the siren and lights and are passed up. Police stations are good and train stations. Also in the cars once you open the front and rear doors.

Best place for them is train stations and second floor of the firestations.

I only found a press vest on the school in Elektro, the first roof... so to speak. Two other players were there. Now that I know it's a rare item I can't believe they overlooked it. I found a stab vest in the Nadezdino(?) police station.
