Patch 1.5.7 and this being an Alpha and fucking zombie spawns

Recommended Posts

I like the idea of more zombies, but i do not like the idea of continues spawns within a short period, i am even open to the idea of several waves of zombies. but the idea that a small town is unclearable i do not like. i would like to atleast have enouth time to grab all the loot and organise my bag and get out before the zombies start spawning again. i would like to be able to clear a town completly with a well armed group instead of having to sneak around everytime. i would like to have that choice, make it very difficult but not impossible, please.

also it makes no sense that there are hundred of zombies in a small town apearing out of nowhere, also them spawning close to player makes no sense at all either.

and thank you for creating this amazingly good mod! you are a pioneer, keep up the good work!

I'm sure this would be pretty difficult to implement, but what if there was a way to fortify small towns or single buildings in the larger cities. You'd have to gather the right supplies and complete certain tasks/waves in order to make the small area, or building safe. After a while there could be hordes of zombies that attack the town/building that you have to fend off, or it resets when no one is there for a while. It would be a pretty cool Idea, but I'm sure it would be extremly difficult to put into the game, but maybe something similar but more plausible could be done.

I wasn't on the forums when the zombie count was increased, but I really wish I had been now, in order to at least show my support for the large amount of zombies.

The sheer number of zombies in each city made entering towns and buildings a really tense experience, as I'd have to crawl past them in many cases, praying that they couldn't see me. Firing at a zombie in a town or city was often suicide without the correct equipment, and it all made lone wolfing much harder - which I think led to more people actually helping each other as opposed to shooting on sight.

Ever since the update, zombies don't seem to carry the same threat as before. Crawling through a town, I no longer am terrified that a zombie might see me, as I'm relatively sure I'll make it out alive even with the makarov. Sometimes I simply don't bother crawling, or sneaking, and just aim to shoot everything on sight using the makarov. The problem for me here is that it seems to work a bit too often for my liking.

Of course, it might not have been the update that did this - I may have got better at the game to the point where it no longer feels the same way. I certainly didn't really start registering that the makarov one shots zombies on headshots until after this update hit. Even so, I have the feeling that it really didn't help.

I'd greatly appreciate it if the numbers were reverted back to 1.5.7 levels, with possibly a compromise for those who found it impossible to play where the time it takes to spawn was slightly increased. A load of zombies suddenly spawning in front of you with no warning added frustration for completely the wrong reasons, I feel, especially if you'd just cleared them out and started running.

Thanks.

Staroye village. 58 headshots, 126 killed, out of ammo. But they keep spawning, falling down from the skies infront of barn. Boring. Relogin to stop zeds' aggro, find out the village is clear, have several minutes to loot before they start appear from nowhere. Crawl back into the woods.

Don't like to hop or relogin, but it is the only way for solo players, even with tons of ammo ::sadpanda::

Something is wrong with respawn time.

I do like the zombie count but it's the constant stream out of no where that I don't like. Remote barns have like 10 zombies outside. If you accidentally aggro you can kiss your ammo goodbye. 10 zeds outside to start, 80+ bodies on the floor when you're done. I understand it's alpha, I'm ok with that, I'm glad to be a part of the testing process. I just get worried about the future when I see all these positive posts about the current zombies.

+1.

My group has actually has LESS luck entering a city as a group that we do solo. We get in, zombie spots us, someone shoots, we run into, say, a supermarket, then we kill every zombie around with pistol. As soon as that group is gone another group comes in. Last night I killed 60 zombies in one barn and they simply kept spawning and running up, couldn't even exit. Running as a group as become detrimental.

The never-ending waves can be annoying, but I did prefer the larger groups that chewed through your ammo if you didn't play sneaky or carry a crossbow or something else quiet.

Disclaimer: I KNOW THIS IS ALPHA and Im NOT bitching!!

I have to say that in some towns (like Pavlovo) the zombie count is way too high. Especially considering the fact that I checked every barn and deerstand going up to there and not a single weapon to be found.

So to deal with 20 zeds and a makarov seems a bit extreme. Then only to find the only house I went in has been stripped.

I would say if the zed numbers were to stay the same (again given this is ALPHA) then the items respawns should be tied in some way to the zed respawn. Nothing sucks more than to enter 3 or 4 zed locations, check several item spawn locations..and find nothing but pissed off zeds.

EDIT: Nevermind ...just saw the video posted above... THAT was a lot of zeds!! I do still stand by how the respawn of items seems borked. Three barns, three deerstands, and houses up to Pavlovo...all empty, out of ammo, and pissed zeds = ded me :)
