can these house walls be shot through?

i just got shot and killed when i was upstairs room in 1 of these houses in svetlojarsk i walked into the upstairs room standing,  then crouched just before a shot was fired at me which i think hit me, but  didnt damage me much or at all, so i went prone and faced the door to the hallway, and after a few more seconds  they fired more shots which were hitting me and in a few seconds i was dead.

 

noone could see me from any type of higher view , and noone had come up the steps and shot me from the hall way, im sure of these things, also it was in hardcore mode. so i came on the forums to see if its possible to shoot through the walls of these large green or red  wooden exterior houses. as i underdtand from reading its not possible so i guess this was someone cheating somehow?

I believe there are hackers who can see through walls and shoot through them. Wall hacking. It had to have been a hacker, since there was apparently no legit way of spotting you

You can delete some files in the DayZ data for buildings and replace them with empty ones. People will look like they would be walking on air, and items will be floating inside buildings. You can walk through, shoot through, whatever you want.

 

Note - This is why zombies can mystically walk through things, they don't have the info.

Could have been a desync issue - they might have been in plain sight of you or vice versa. Could have been cheats. Hard to tell sometimes.

 

Not sure if you can shoot through those walls - would like to know the answer to that too.

no, zombies can walk through walls because they do not detect collision correctly, not because they ignore walls. Otherwise how would you explain zombies walking up the stairs or being stuck in floors?

anyway, in summary, it seems that these house walls can not be shot though normally, and that someone was using a cheat to kill me in that situation, as i was being shot through the walls.

I am unsure about that, to be honest. I do not know enough about the DayZ ballistics, but it is entirely possible in ARMA 2 and ARMA 3, as illustrated in this video:

It is entirely possible bullets will penetrate that wooden wall.

 

I've seen many examples and have tested many wooden walls with the M4, it will go through.

* This group is literally spraying up this hanger wall to kill the guy inside, and if you look at the point when they peak in, you can see the player inside wounded from a couple shots.

yes i have been shot through a hangar, and thought thats fine,

 

im talking about this specific type of building in this topic, so no i dont need example of hangar wall.

i was hoping that people might post "yes i have shot people in those rooms through those walls" or "no i have tried it and it doesnt work"

 

i think i will test it with a friend now just from curiosity

Pretty sure certain ammo can penetrate walls. I was watching RadBrad's videos and I think one of the guys he was rolling with earlier on in his series, a guy got shot through a metal wall in a large building, by a sniper on a hill.

 

Those buildings are old wood/plaster or something and realistically would penetrate, just with a huge loss of velocity.

halfway on stairways u sometimes Pop into the stairways .. making u invisible for others! but ur view is still like u are on top of the stariway!
