How to set up an autorun key in DayZ

Recommended Posts

I like to play a lot of ArmA, but much like DayZ it requires a lot of W pushing so I went online and set up an auto run key then it hit me this could really help the guys on DayZ so heres how to set up an auto run key.

Step one: Download this software and add it into its own folder on your desktop http://www.mediafire.com/download/m32g1jxnnz1/GlovePIE041.zip

Step 2: Run the software .exe

Step 3: Add the following line of code (Remove parenthesis) "toggle(key.w)=key.up" then add this script below that one "toggle(key.shift)=key.up"

Step 4: Hit Run at the top of the newly opened window

Step 5: Open DayZ its time to do some key binding changes. Go to assignments and look under INFANTRY MOVMENT for fast foreward and delete it. Now on turbo (Right Above it) add SHIFT as the new key binding. This will cause an issue with the Walk Temporarily binding. To fix this change that key binding in Temporarily walking from shift to Control.

Step 5: Now when you are in DayZ press your Foreward/up key (arrow key)

Congragulations! You will now be running forever, happy hunting!

I wish someone could get this working with the G-series keyboards, or the Corsair software. I am to the point where I would pay someone who could figure out how to make an autorun macro work for those.

I'm glad you like it, I wasn't sure I'd this type of post was appropriate for these forums.

Should be fine, I don't think GlovePie will cause anyone issues just results.

Same here, burst fire macro too, makes any semi into a more deadly weapon, for a burst I recommend a delay of .07 seconds, works great for me.

REP THAT RAZER

Tiamat 7,1, Blackwidow ultimate 2013, Naga Epic 2013.

Great idea, thanks! I'll have to make one next time I get online. :)

And here I thought magnets were awesome 8P

Magnets with electronics? Might as well pour the glass of milk on your keyboard now.

What I meant was the built-in macro software that comes with the logitech and corsair keyboards/mice. I mean, you can make the macro, but it doesn't seem to be recognized while the game is running.

Why stop there? You can create a macro to eliminate recoil too.

So what your saying is you cheat? Nice welcome to the forums

Yeah it is, I use that and it works fine.  Went and took a shower, and was at the NWAF when I came back.

Set that macro up, hit the button once, then double tap "W" to go full on Kenyan sprint mode, and to turn it off, hit the macro key again, and tap "W" once.

l-lel.

I guess you're implying that macros aren't valid in gaming, I guess I see your point, it sucks if you don't have them.

With your train of thought, I should make a macro that puts me into 3pp and leans me against a wall to use that wall exploit.I really don't cheat, and anyone with a mouse can mimic my actions if you are quick, that and the lack of an actual 3 round burst on the m4 sucks, and I remedied that.

Cheers~

I'm not implying anything, I am straight out telling you they are not valid. A running macro, yeah sure I can live with that, a macro to make you do something that you couldn't normally do cause you lack skill, yeah that's BS.

Oh I have macro keyboard, I am just not that pathetic.

Yeah if you are quick, so if you have SKILL. Which clearly you don't, don't let me get in your way of cheating though lol
