Id only be on board with this if we eventually get MORE spray paint color options that are not camo and we can spray paint whatever color we want on current items that can use the function.

I remember the "brony fire axe" on inside DayZ, it was a hoax, but the idea is great. what if we had other types of spraypaints and by combining them on items we got easter egg items, like a fireaxe with a dayZ logo on it? or be able to put "veteran skins" on certain items like the m4? (tally marks for kills and such) or anarchist/redpunk weapons? it would be a great idea I think. however it leads to the obvious flaw of having to reskin the weapon and CLONE the weapon like they do now. Hopefully they can make it like the attachment system in the future.

post soviet state. its not russia, its ussr. even if it wasnt in ussr its in eastern europe therefore its affected bythe soviet union much more than it affected from the amerifags.

if it was just a casual game i would never even mention it but its fucking realistic survival simulator. you have fucking lenin statue and red fucking stars all over the place.

we cant have nice things because people like you forget that its actually realistic survival simulator and the devs forgot it too.

Chernarus is not in the USSR, which ended in the 1990s. DayZ is not a simulator by any means, there are tons of breaks from reality it makes that could be changed well within the boundaries of realism and practicality but are not simply because they do not add anything or would take away from the overall experience. Also, there's no statues of Lenin in Chernarus, just the statue with the T-34/85 on it and the one with revolutionary forces holding PPSh-41s

From what i understand the AKM is a bigger improvement over the AK 47.

 

So i dont understand you guys are still getting your bigger Eastern Block weapon. But it BETTER be shit at longer ranges. Thats why we have the ARs like the M4A1 which still needs better accuracy tweaking.

Well I was talking about AK74 and not AK47 :-).

Game needs both AKM and AK74, that is fo sure.

Alright, I have seen this waay to many times and it is frankly pissing me off. There are posters everywhere saying "This is a Russian Farming Community, they wont have that." This is just BS. If we were really going all out realism then there would be very little guns anywhere except military bases. Dayz is focused on a zombie apocalypse, not a Russian apocalypse. I don't just want Russian surplus weapons, because that is boring as hell. I want weapons from everywhere (Preferably older weapons) And I want them to spawn just as much as Russian weapons. I'm talking about the MP40, the Sturmgewehr 44, the M1 Garand, Lee enfield, M44, etc. IDGAF if all you want is Russian everything, because that is boring as hell especially in a farming community where there are only going to be shotguns and crappy rifles. Dayz needs to have weapons, clothing, and vehicles from all over the world to give a diverse experience. There needs to be Russian guns, yes, but in no way should they dominate all of Chernaurus 

Why would there be just as many American weapons as Russian weapons if this actually is Russia!? I'm okay with a few ,very rare, non-Russian weapons. But just as many? That makes no sense. There's no such thing as the 'Everything' Country. I would prefer if DayZ stayed true to its theme.

BTW: A ton of the people in this topic are racist, which I can't say I approve of.

Agreed that they won't be found in Russia/"The near abroad" like chernarus. however I do see some of the higher profile ones having been sent home as trophies and momentos or something. Tommy gun, B.A.R, Knives, uniforms most likely Bayonets and and uniforms would be the things sent. Allied forces did it all the time, it is the only reason we have as many Katanas left from that time as we do, Allied soldiers saved them for various reasons, bragging rights, respect, etc.

 

I could see the tommy gun filling the SMG role for .45 ammo. The BAR I don't see working, it has several calibers, but they all translate to variants of 7.62 and we won't need another 7.62 Assault rifle once the AKM comes in. much as it would be awesome to see and use, it is superfluous and a novelty weapon that isn't needed (much like the P90 and G36).

 

As for more civil weapons, we need one to counter each military grade weapon, the blaze is the mosin counterpart (and does well at it) but what do you do for the m4? AKM? FN FAL? G3A1? I'd argue the crossbow is the coutnerpart to the SKS really, but that seems kinda... no, because of the reload speed.
