Thilarro 0 Posted April 27, 2014 I cannot get the ingame sound of Dayz to come through my headset. Every other game works fine. I've reinstalled it and reinstalled the directx and nothing seems to work.

pilgrim* 3514 Posted April 27, 2014 I found the answer is SteamTurn off Steam. plug your headset in, THEN launch steam. OK - why it does this I dunno - it detects the mike I guess, but I should still have sound. BUT I don't.I do it every evening when I switch from speakers to headset. There IS an option in Steam somewhere, but I'm too lazy.Try it.
Zedertone 378 Posted April 27, 2014 Try opening steam, and up in top left corner click Steam > Settings. Click Voice at the bottom, and at the top click change device. After you find your mic through that menu, it should say your mic at the top if you chose it.Now, it should save that as your mic and your output. Under that there are Mic volume and receive volume to adjust your settings. Hope this helped! :)
Thilarro 0 Posted April 27, 2014 Just tried all of that and nothing :(. I have sound if I use speakers but it just doesn't seem to want to work through the headset.
DelayedReaction 18 Posted April 28, 2014 I have the same issue... the way around it is to set your headset to be the primary sound device. right-click your volume icon > Playback > right-click the headset > set as default device click OK. Then load up SA... it's an issue with the game not being able to switch sound devices once it's loaded up.
Estevacio 62 Posted April 28, 2014 Personally on my PC, i always need to change between headphones and speakers before entering any full screen application!! But for the original poster, it seems he cannot at any time?? DelayedReaction 18 Posted April 28, 2014 (edited) Personally on my PC, i always need to change between headphones and speakers before entering any full screen application!! But for the original poster, it seems he cannot at any time?? Like this always works!!has always worked for me! :) if you tell windows to use the headset as the default sound device then as long as there are no settings anywhere else that would force the sound out of the speakers, when you load SA it will default to the default sound device (as far as I can tell there are currently no options to change sound device in-game Edited April 28, 2014 by DelayedReaction
Thilarro 0 Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) I still have my speakers plugged into the back but I always disable them through the playback devices. I plug my headset into the front. The only other sound setting I have is the beats program. I'm not sure if that's interfering or what.Edit* Also, when I play, no sounds come out of my speakers. There's just no sound out of my speakers or headset. Edited April 29, 2014 by Thilarro
