Both die at the same time?

Recommended Posts

I get first shot on a kid, but he still has 2 seconds to react to the bullet that is in his head. This is not realistic whatsoever. This is not the first time it has happened either. No such thing as a gunfight if you both end up dying at the same time because the bullets don't register when they should -.-

Two people can be killed by shooting each other at the same time in real life. And if it didn't register then welcome to online video games. No game can be perfect. It just happens.

Happened to me as well and it wasn't because the bullets didn't register in time, we just happened to shoot at each other at the same time.

Sure it just happens but in the Arma series it happens quite often and alot.

Hopefully with time and optimization this can be diminished.

Another good way to prevent this would be to have a shake effect when you get hit by a gunshot that changes completely your point of aim not allowing you to get an immediate accurate shot right after taking a gunshot.

Welcome to BF4..

wait.. err, I mean DayZ.  :|

All jokes aside, BIS games have always had this "delay".. those of us that have played them for a long time, just got used to it.

yeah, totally realistic when you shoot 2 shotgun slugs point blank in someone's chest, he turns arond and unload a m4 in you before dying.

that's a RV engine disease.

And that's why the CQC in all the arma series and in dayz sucks so much.

Contrary to the popular belief, people can still shoot at you even if they've been shot. Not sure what there is to be fixed.

well, following your logic, we would still be playing pong in our ataris.

Just because it's a game doesnt mean it cant be improved.

Let's hope not.

I am guessing there be a point in time where realism and realistic gunplay will be a focus for the team and they will fix all of the garbage gunplay in the game.

Suppression would go a long way to fixing alot of that.

Well, im just thinking since we didnt get it in Arma III, we should not hold our breath here tbh.

Arma III is by far a way more realistic shooter then DayZ ever was, which is a shame.

I hope they stay away from the "arcadish" solutions in the future, but we simply dont know :)

what the OP describes is a long standing issue with the Aram engine and it's netcode. It was in every iteration based on the engine to varying degrees. Altho the devs has supposedly re worked the server architecture considerably i would expect this to be a consistent nagging problem.

Also i have seen it in arma III, however is is drasticly reduced compared to A2, OA, OFP, etc.

The gun mechanics in arma 3 are soooo much better than in dayz.

Especially with a little free aim added to the controls.

In arma 3 you can actually engage targets at 300m with iron sights and an assault rifle.

In arma 3 bullet trajectory is based on muzzel orientation. you can learn to adapt and anticipate sway. you can NOT do anything about dispersion cones other then barrel stuff the target.

Arma 3 also has a bullet dispersion system but it mimics real life accuracy. a 2 moa weapon makes 2 inch groups at 100 yards, 10 inch groups at 500 yards.

These realistic dispersion values can be accounted for and overcome.

The completely wacky and random dispersion values in dayz cannot.

Arma 3 also has higher zoom levels when aiming with iron sights allowing iron sighted weapons to be effective at their effective ranges of 300-600m

Although, mabie it shouldnt be diminished. People have a Hollywood notion of what happens when you get shot. However depending on where and with what people dont just clutch their chest and fall over. There are even reasons where if you are not shot at the base of the skull your body can still spazzum and pull the trigger, though you are missing most of your brain.
