Got Banned for some reason..."I actually wasn't hacking"

Recommended Posts

Both of you should really not talk to each other any more.. its getting really, really boring reading an argument.

Just saying.

^^^ but Im pretty much done here. But thanks people that actually helped instead of accused with help...Much thanks Ill be sure to come back to this forums for help anytime

You're talking about the Arma 2 mod and not about the standalone right? Btw those don't share bans but Arma 3 and DayZ standalone does.

Yes and I know thanks

One thing I can't seem to understand, if you were falsely banned, why buy another copy?

A global BE ban goes across all games that use BE.

Key.. I caught that he purchased a key in there somewhere. So I think that was his thought process.. "$6 for a new key? this should work fine." Only problem is unofficial keys will get you banned.

Doesn't really seem fair to convict him without proof. I've never run into this issue, but then, I hardly ever used a game protected by BattleEye, either. And what good would it do for someone to plead their innocence on the forums? That won't help them any more than an appeal would, and therefore doesn't make sense. It DOES make sense for someone to come on the forums asking the community if they know what could be causing something that they can't figure out, because maybe someone has run into the same issue (which, after doing some searching, it DOES seem to be a rather widespread problem) and can help them. Also, if I had run into an issue where I could no longer play a game, and was receiving no help to fix the problem and couldn't figure it out, then I might possibly buy another copy if it was cheap enough (and the OP said it was apparently on sale). It also makes sense that, having not figured out the problem, the second copy would also run unto the same problem. As for putting cheats on a flash drive, I NEVER cheat, and I'm smart enough to realize that. If you didn't know that, you must not be that into gaming. It's kind of a common sense thing.

Stop using hacks please

This isn't helpful at all and is therefore a useless post.

I was a CAL admin for a few years back in the heyday. If VAC can erroneously ban someone that isn't cheating, I'm pretty sure BattlEye can too. (; I'm not defending the OP, I'm just saying it's definitely possible.

I agree with this; I've seen this also. And VAC is a FAR more stable and secure anti-cheat system than BattleEye. So it stands to reason that BattleEye isn't perfect and faultless. Also, according to some people I've talked to and heard from, the BattleEye support staff doesn't exactly have the most professional demeanor.

All that being said, it IS possible that BattleEye is detecting something somewhere on your system; I'd say your best bet at pinning it down would be to just scout Google (or whatever your preferred search provider is) for similar instances and see if you can learn anything.

Beyond that, I guess try what blazed suggested; it may be your only shot. I would also heed Irish's advice; sounds pretty good to me.

I happen to believe the guy as well. I don't think he'd come here asking for honest advice hoping someone would just fork over ways to work around anything on an official forum. You guys just telling him not to hack seems a little short-sighted and dull to me.

IF you were legit banned for not doing anything, I sincerely hope you'll be able to enjoy the game again. Irish seems to offer some good advice on the matter.

Not defending OP; but going to battleye is USELESS even if you are legit. even their own appeal policy basically says they wont tell you anything about why your banned. Its like being convicted of a crime and sentenced to life with no opportunity to see the charges against you.

Well, if you respond to a criminal as to why exactly they did something wrong with anything having to do with the internet, the greater the chance they can reverse the process, or at least do something about it later. People can be quite intelligent, so I assume they do that as a safety precaution. There are actually a couple of reasons for taking that stance. Point is, their job is to protect, though they can always be wrong. Still, there isn't much point in stating anything public as to why they are wrong, and for some good reasoning. You should understand that If you expect to see anything of note come from your work in security, you always black-hole the information, all the time.

I understand and can get behind the reason, but its also a complete road-block and impass for anyone attempting to rectify a legitimate false positive. or case of Key theft, etc. if you genuinely did no wrong and one day find yourself banned all you can do is ponder the possible reasons and either give it up or buy a new game. there is NO alternative- and no real way to prove anything when you don't even know what caused the ban.

Do I have malware that was used to steal my key?

Do I have legitmate program/plugin that was detected as a hook (Ie recording software, TS/mumble overlays, etc)

Was the offense resulting in my ban even from this IP? (may point to key theft if not)?

without being able to know WHY you were banned your just flat screwed.

You were probably using cheats, denial is more common than lube on a porn set in this world.

but...................

If you weren't by small chance...

Check your antivirus/internet security programs and make sure they aren't deleting random files from your games.

On forums which is pointless because no one believes from the start.

We do not deal with Global Bans here anyway, which is why it is pointless in the first place. You said you contacted them. Ask them. Not us. You won't get much help here, as BE doesn't just ban random people, especially not on ARMA 2 - as it's not a new game.

Make sure your computer isn't compromised by third party software (keystealer).

As for the rest of the people on these forums: we have rules and you're better off reporting a thread than commenting.
