Deadly Virus 1 Posted April 17, 2014 Adding a temperature system would make the game a lot more realistic. WAIT THERE IS MORE!!!!!!! Coats and clothes could also have an effect so when in hotter weather, you can overheat with a coat on, but in snow or rain, small clothes and t-shirts don't warm you up so you could freeze to death. It would be displayed as a 'thought' message like "I feel hungry" to say I feel cold/freezing or sweating/it is scorching. This can be given a more accurate reading if you find a thermometer which will constantly show your body heat to tell you if you're too hot or cold. As in real life, your default body temperature should be about 38 degrees Centigrade or around 97 degrees Fahrenheit.
MrZombiezKillerz 1 Posted April 17, 2014 This seems like a good idea and it would make people think more about what sort of clothes they should wear and not just running round with no clothes on!!!
ghasteater100 5 Posted April 17, 2014 I pretty sure Dean Hall already had this in mind, so he will probably add it in, good idea though.
fluxley 2228 Posted April 17, 2014 Already confirmed, just hasn't been implemented yet.
NagsterTheGangster 388 Posted April 17, 2014 Id rather maybe some sweat or something roll down the screen instead of thought messages (I know they will be taken out eventually) or your hands get all red from frostbite to let you know you need some shelter/ new clothes. But I like the idea, any more little survival features they want to throw in im okay with!
Elpollodiablo (DayZ) 6 Posted April 18, 2014 I think this has been discussed in quite a bit of threads already but yeah it would be cool to implement. Would also have to include the soaked 'debuff' so people would be freezing in cold weather while soaked, regardless of outfit and perhaps add the possibility of cooling yourself down to a normal temperature, again regardless of outfit, on the hot days while being soaked. theevancat 94 Posted April 18, 2014 Or when exercising in the cold you get really hot inside your coat - it gets uncomfortable and sweaty and progresses until you have to cool down by taking it off even in cold weather.
massacrorBKK 64 Posted April 18, 2014 (edited) Well. I saw something strange the last day (strange about reality, but not at all considering this is a game, in alpha and the weather feature haven't been implement yet), something I hope they will not forget when they'll make the weather system. My friend and I were soaked and at the same moment my friend found some new clothes in the ground. Those clothes was in better condition so he changed himself. At the end, he got a new trouser and a new top (can't remember exactly what top it was), anyway... he was still as much soaked as I was... If you are soaked and you change your clothes for dry ones, you should be dry again, or maybe just damp. Sorry, small edit. While I'm talking about weather effect and rain. The waterproof clothes like wellies, raincoat, etc... should be really waterproof, as long as they are in a pristine or worn state (no big hole in it) and keep you dry under the rain. They should also add some waterproof trousers and some protection for your bag (like so many people have when they are coming to Thailand during the rainy season...).
