Ghostflux 100 Posted April 16, 2014 Awsome, not sure how you'd consistently aim that way, but it still looks awsome.
acebane 268 Posted April 16, 2014 You know, I agree with that. The shifting of a couple inches up and down helped add the immersion to peek out of a window etc. I've been saying that for awhile to my guys on my teamspeak. I feel though, your picture instead of words didn't really explain the idea or the purpose. Was hoping for a lengthy post explaining the benefits of the stance system :(

DarkwaveDomina 1099 Posted April 16, 2014 I'm sure Rocket said in one of his live streams that they are working on adding more stances.

rickyspanish 158 Posted April 16, 2014 Its definitely one of my favourite features of arma 3, I think it would fit in the standalone perfectly and offer something a lot of games don't. I like how you can use it to hold your rifle on your left side when leaning to the left. It's a cool feature and I can't imagine it being to much work getting it into standalone. Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted April 16, 2014 No, it really isn't needed. Want to go pay army hero, go play ARMA 3 Book of Eli.And this
acebane 268 Posted April 16, 2014 (edited) That's the beauty! Can't forget about shifting your whole body left or right, while ALSO being able to do a normal lean with it. Makes for a SUPER-LEAN lol. I've been playing hardcore lately and I found myself using the lean function a lot to get a bit "lower" to grab stuff under furniture without proning. Can you imagine how amazing it'd be to do the lowest stance (Furthest left in picture) under a car to either dispatch a bandit or get that well-hidden loot? Sometimes those window sills or furniture pieces don't cover us enough, or are too high for us to shoot our guns over. The couple of inches can make allllll the difference in the world...... Just get ready to change your push to talk key if you use left control =p. Edited April 16, 2014 by Acebane
hells high 676 Posted April 17, 2014 (edited) No, it really isn't needed. Want to go pay army hero, go play ARMA 3 That might be the stupidest thing I've read today. There's nothing military and nothing heroic about not being confined to 3 simple stance positons, don't be a moron. The stances are one of the best innovations to be made by BI in while. Can you crouch normally? Can you crouch slightly higher to see above a wall that might not be the perfect size, without having to stand completely up and expose yourself like an idiot? Oh you can? But are you a highly decorated and specialized military operative? No? Weird. There's a fairly solid, easy to see line between advocating DayZ from becoming a military simulator and rejecting ideas simply because someone mentions ARMA. Was hoping for a lengthy post explaining the benefits of the stance system :(I read that it was going to be looked into being implemented. I was posting the picture because of the new bow and arrow, and was thinking that the stance from laying on your back could be beneficial not only with bows but with firearms. No, it really isn't needed. Want to go pay army hero, go play ARMA 3So if I want to be able to use my surrounding to my advantage in a survival game, I'm playing Army Hero? What kind of logic is that? Sounds like you are scared of the advanced play some might be able to achieve, either that or you are very narrow minded when it comes to concepts. The more people even mention that game the more they want it to become ARMA. Also, the stance system in ARMA 3 is so clunky it's already a pain in the ass just to get those stances. No one wants DayZ to be ARMA, but how can you reject a good feature and not give any information as to why you do not want said feature in-game? Saying people will want it to be more like ARMA isn't a valid discussion point. P.S. I think you validated my ASSUMPTION - you say its clunky, yet I have no problem with the ARMA 3 system. I think you are scared because to you its clunky and therefore people who understand it will have an advantage. Edited April 17, 2014 by DBC

I've never even been in the military, the last person to fight in a war in my family was my grandfather in WWII as apart of the lightning division. I think you have a chip on your shoulder and are trying to find reason to dislike something that has no real reason to be disliked.

Katana67 2907 Posted April 17, 2014 Doesn't bode well for us controller users, but yes, I've always wanted to have ARMA III's leaning and positioning system in DayZ. Bending like Gumby at a 90 degree angle at the hips is sort of silly.
