New Experimental?

Well, trying to test what changes have been made beside the accelerated time has become a daunting task.  They really should just send invites out to people who actually want to test and not be a complete KoS'ing douchebag on the experimental servers.

When objects are thrown, do they make a noise when they hit stuff?

Does a thrown knife,(for example) cause damage to players or zombies?

What types of items can you or can you not throw?

From what I can tell they don't. I'm sure they plan on adding that in.

 

It would be nice to be able to make distractions from throwing objects, like an empty can accross the street or rock through a window, to make a little opening for yourself to escape without detection, or maybe to distract someone before taking them down

The moon needs to be out for you to see at night. If you couldn't see at night then the moon was not out, thats how its worked for ages.

ya, I think that was intentional, Dean said something about how cool it is to be able to have real events, like a lunar eclipse, in a game also

in order to have a game with good gameplay you need a better game, because dayz SA isn't it.

Every post you make has something to do with the game sucking, being bad or the devs not knowing what they are doing without any constructive feedback on how to improve it.  

 

Saying the game sucks is not constructive without backing it up with reasons why.

Can't even get on the servers anymore, I'm seeing 5 for all of europe and 0 for the UK.

 

Also doesn't help that they haven't told us what new features will require testing, so we're guessing what they've tinkered with.

 

The only item related change I noticed is that canned drinks don't seem to give any hydration anymore.

You're hope to be able to throw things like the torch though.... one or two hands shouldn't make any difference (but obviously it does).

 

Well it requires an animation I assume wich still needs to be built.

  • It should be a pro, but I can't "cheat" with gamma any more. I guess they fixed it, but since they have not made night playable yet I don't care for it and imagine most servers will not use it. I certainly won't be using servers that have accelerated time or 24/7 night mode enabled. This is a shame because I really miss it from the mod.

Played a bit earlier today and I was able to see very clearly at night with gamma/brightness all the way up. In my experience, gamma/brightness exploiting only works with HDR on "Low" instead of "Very Low". It still looks close to pitch black if HDR is on very low. Not only does this help with the exploit, but it also makes it easier to see at night in general. Not many seem to know this though; saw many guys in Svet with their flashlights out.

 

I haven't noticed cloud settings have any effect on the exploit, I leave most everything on max. (That all being said, it could vary from system to system)

Went nearly pitch black on my screen, but we're not posting from the exact same system so can't say for sure we're not seeing slightly different instances of the same issue.

Edit:  bah, youtube really screws with the quality.  You can't really see it getting dark like it did

 

Around 0:38 is when you can definitely notice a change in the lighting

My screen went night time dark on the exp server when I was in the woods while it was raining. Then when back to normal afterwards.

 

It was nothing like the contrast change on that video.

This is incorrect in my experience. With HRD on Low the exploit works just fine with no moon, as it did when I was testing a few hours ago. When the moon came out it worked even better. (I thought it was turning to day but it was just the moon) This was all done with clouds on max.

 

I'll try to post some pics today if I have time.

Yeah but there was a *much* greater drop in the amount of light.

I had couples of disconnects  because of server crashing. But what annoys me is the game crashed twice to desktop (never happened before). But I didn't experienced any desync on EXP 100/100 or any 40/40 compared to massive desync on the previous 43 stable.(warp back inside building while trying to leave said building)

 

FOV now seems the same between 1st and 3rd person. And you can zoom while ads with reddot.
