Clanservers and instakick

Recommended Posts

Good morning everyone. Back on DayZ after a looooong pause caused by uni exams.

A question. Search function didn't help, but I might be just dumb as a brick.

Clanservers. Are they an actual thing now? I see so many servers, especially in the morning when there aren't many players in general, that say "CLAN SERVER JOIN = KICK". I tried joining a bunch and I got, obviously, kicked. Still, most of the times I was getting kicked just after joining, like it was automated.

Are they "legal" or sshould I just report those cheating fuzzybunnies?

Just ignore them.. If your not part of the "clan" why even bother? There are more than enough servers to go around.

It's not aloud and it's against hosting TOS.

Side note, Am I the only one that noticed your names and avatars? >.>

This thread confuses the hell out of me, looks like a guy arguing with himself.

That said, It's against the ToS already.. but more could be done to combat it, I'd like to see a unified and simple method for reporting server and admin abuse. If it's our responsibility as players to police the community by reporting violations, the least the development team can do is give us the tools to do the job effectively.

This is not allowed. Report these servers to their hosting company, if you don't know which company they're hosted with then send a report to all of them.

Where to to send your server reports:

Multiplay:            support@multiplay.co.uk

Vilayer:               abuse@vilayer.com

Fragnet:              abuse@fragnet.net or submit a ticket to their abuse department

GamingDeluxe:  admin@gamingdeluxe.co.uk

Gameservers:    support@gameservers.com

* Remember to include the IP and port numbers, the server name is not enough*

You find these numbers by highlighting the server in the server browser, then selecting 'Detail' at the lower right. If you can't remember which server you were playing on, you can find it under the 'History' tab.

Unfortunately most of the servers are clan servers now.

Any chance we can get a "History" list that's sorted in order from the last server you were on? Maybe it's just me but that "History" list seems pretty darn random. :(

Always make me sad to see threads like this.  Gives those of us running clans a bad name.  I can assure you that AOD has never, and will never kick anyone off our server unless they are being a complete and utter jackass (I'm not talking bandit, I'm talking major jackassery through chat and voice)

I'd like to extend to you the offer of coming to play on our clan server. Hopefully we can rebuild the reputation of playing on a clan server by giving you a fun and safe environment to play on with no fear of being kicked because you aren't part of the clan or a clannie needs a spot (I tell my guys to keep refreshing and connect when a slot opens, I won't even kick to make space)

Properly run clan servers can be lots of fun as you can very easily stumble upon a clan event in progress and be invited to join in and feel part of a community rather than just another body running from the zombie horde.

Edit: Oh and btw... If you do log in to our server.  I won't promise you that my clan mates won't hold you up, shoot you, or take you prisoner.  We don't restrict play styles in AOD (other than no jackassery.) I won't promise you that one of them won't make the offer for you to join the clan.  What I will promise you is that you won't be pressured to play a certain way, you won't be forced to join our clan.  You will never be kicked for any reason (other than being a total jackass and abusive through the chat systems.)  And we will NEVER do anything to purposely try to make your gaming session anything less than enjoyable.

It is against the rules of hosting a server.

They are not allowed to lootfarm and kick anyone who joins to maintain their lootfarm.

Why not? I find love killing them while they're airfield farming and watching the rage and if I can help get a teenager with admin to lose their server hosting, then all the better.

Just don't bother playing on clan/private servers, stick to official DE, GB, UK or US etc. servers.

As said before, it's not the fact that I can't play there, it's the fact that it's basically cheating.

Like everybody has else said...they're illegal and as such should be reported. :)

There is a flip side to this, as an admin on our clan server it is also my responsibility to kick people that are hacking or cheating, the annoying thing as an admin is I can't judge who the person is cheating as people don't have tags so I end up having to kick everybody off the server...it doesn't happen a lot but it happens.

As a server admin I also have to deal with this, but granted it has been very occasional- in the 3 months I have had my server I can count on one hand how many times I have had to kick the real shit disturbers. The ones that I spent more time kicking were dupers. Twice, a couple of months ago, we had hackers invade and cause trouble. Kicking didn't help- I just shut down the server for a half hour, forced them to find somewhere else to pull their bullshit.

Ironically some of the most fun times I've had on DayZ have been when I've joined a server like those and none of the admins were on to kick me. They can't control what happens on their server when they're not on. If you get kicked report them and move on to the next one.

What a bunch of morons to pay for a server so they can loot farm it. LMAO
