DayZ Best Equipment Checklist

What's up guys, I just wanted to share my thoughts on the best equipment needed for DayZ, so here it is.

It's a check-list so you can use the legend to see what you have and what to get. Example, Fire axe (N) Combat Boots (-) TTsKO Jacket (Y)

Y = Yes

- = Similar Item

They are bit too light color wise. I'd go with brown myself or at least black if I can't find brown.

They are bit too light color wise. I'd go with brown myself or at least black if I can't find brown.

 

I don't mind beige, personally. Yes, it is too light for that environment but still works better than yellow raincoat while you don't "look" like "one of those". Not that it matters practically. I wear beige combat jacket or whatever it was called. Works if don't have better options at the time.

Just curious about the rice. It does give 10 servings, but it dehydrates you doesn't it? Would 2 canned peaches be better, as it hydrates you? It might depend on your canteen count, but it seems almost equal in terms of value.

Yeah, food of any choice imo, what's available at the time, but if you are near Elektro or a place with a well rice is good.

I'm pretty sure press vest is the same if not less protection than an assault vest. Also assault vest has more slots.

I dont think its better. I could be wrong, but It seems my press vest current and my previous one have saved me a few times... i swear guy unloaded whole 9mm clip on me and i didnt die.  And i have been hit twice by zombie and had ruined assault vest

Doesnt make any sense.... I have been shot point blank and bleeding worse than a driveby victim and still lived. I have had zombies hit me and i took zero damage. Was the press vest badly damaged or worn? had to be in a lower state. Maybe its the combination i wear Press vest and Rider jacket both pristine and I also wear motorcycle helmet because you cant get knocked out in a few punches like you can wearing ballistis helmet which DOESNT protect you getting shot in the face...only the top of your head.

FNX with RDS, suppressor, and pistol flashlight
As much ammo, medical supplies, and equipment (handcuffs, protector cases, etc) that I can carry. More medical supplies than anything though, as I like to think of myself as a medic.

Honestly, if they're laying in a field they deserve to get shot anyway. Camo is very effective in this game, but you need to pick your position carefully. I have had people look straight at me many times and they didn't even know I was there (think about that next time you play lol). Trees are much better cover, since grass doesn't render at longer distances (500m+).
