Tatanko 5591 Posted April 7, 2014 Hey everyone. Nothing all too special, but I got bored and didn't have any of my usual friends to play with this weekend, so on Saturday I just decided to take a walk around and try out my new laptop hardware (and slightly higher settings). I decided to take a few screenshots along the way. I really enjoyed just walking around and enjoying the scenery -- I wish more people would take the time to! Have a good week everyone B)
byrgesen 1341 Posted April 7, 2014 This constitutes 80% of my time ingame lol....Its so much fun to slow things down and enjoy the game, rather then making it a "get from a to b running simulator" kinda game :) Its such a beautiful game, people should try this once in a while, it might relieve some of the Alpha-Tension going around hehe. And a good weekend to you my friend, although its monday now? Getting confused haha :)
Tatanko 5591 Posted April 7, 2014 And a good weekend to you my friend, although its monday now? Getting confused haha :)I said "have a good week" :P I agree, I wish more people would do this. I spend a lot of time just exploring; going places I haven't ever been or that rarely get traveled.
Jayz1331 62 Posted April 7, 2014 i have started doing the same, i have recently been exploring the north west of the map, their seem to be a lot of things to see which you miss when sprinting between areas.

There are also plenty of undeveloped areas (placeholders for towns) and just plain wilderness that most people would never even consider. The first picture is from Kopyto, which is tucked up into the treeline north of Prigorodki. You would never think to go there because it isn't near anything.
cav_guy 62 Posted April 7, 2014 Great pics. I've been spending some time doing the same thing and have finally spotted a few soccer fields. The other day I was running east just north of Berezino and told my buddy that I was right by the soccer field and his reaction was "there's a soccer field in Berezino?" It's easy to miss a lot of things if you're running all over the place.

But yeh, i do the same when im ingame hehe, havent played a whole lot yet, im playing the waiting game hehe.I love how you did them in first person, im a "1PP only" kinda guy, its just a whole lot better on this engine, especially in a game like DayZ, which has alot more tension then Arma tbh.Chernarus is beautiful, always was, but even more so in DayZ, i can spend a long time just looking at the cities and wilderness.I also enjoy the occasional "bush-wookie" session, just sitting in a bush and watching other people run around and do stupid things hehe, Cherno and Elektro are perfect places for this haha. Aww this thread is turning into a nice little place for "The DayZ Hiking Boys" rofl :D

The_Monk 320 Posted April 8, 2014 (edited) Where the hell is that crashed heli at? Komarovo There is another one near the American Star. EDIT: Not entirely sure the shipwreck is still called the American Star. Was in the mod. Edited April 8, 2014 by The_Monk

It's easy to miss a lot of things if you're running all over the place.I've seen all kinds of awesome stuff, and I finally decided to start taking pictures of it for other people to enjoy. There are soccer fields all over the place, but I swear none of them are anywhere obvious. I've even seen some waaayyy up north where very few people ever travel. Jeezz, how did i miss that :huh:Gotta smoke less lol.... Sorry mate. Aww this thread is turning into a nice little place for "The DayZ Hiking Boys" rofl :DI would probably take the pictures in first-person even if I played in third-person; they just look better that way in my opinion. It makes it more about the scenery (and less about the person in it) as well as giving you the feeling that you're the one viewing it for yourself as opposed to someone else. In other words, I think it makes you feel like you're there. Where the hell is that crashed heli at?This specific one is in the marsh between Komarovo and Balota. That's where many of these pictures were taken. Komarovo There is another one near the American Star. EDIT: Not entirely sure the shipwreck is still called the American Star. Was in the mod.I believe the one you're referring to is directly across the road from the shipwreck at Rify (the bay south of Svetlo). If you look at a map of Chernarus, it's the exact middle between the shipwreck and Willow Lake. That's not to confuse it with the wrecked ship at Skalisty Proliv, but I don't think you meant that one. Edited April 8, 2014 by Tatanko
