When do you feel safe to logout?

I've found some places are easier to logout than others.  I logged out when playing with a few friends.  They stayed on and watched a Z run right for me after I logged out and the Z killed me with one hit.  They didn't have time to react.

 

Also, if I see Zs in some wooded areas.  I wait a minute or two to see if any aggro, kill those then log.

 

What do you do?

Go out into the woods (If I'm not already there).  Wait a few moments, make sure there's no stalkers around or zombies, then find a bush or something and log out in it.  That or find a no loot building that's by itself and log out in a room that's not easily visible inside.

way outside a town area (few hundred meters) preferably deep inside tree line, or out of the way 2nd floor house - seen allot of, looks safe, yet logs in at beach, for my friends that don't do the above -

I logged out a few times on the 2nd floor but also experienced a few times that at respawn I fell through the floor, getting stuck behind walls. I was always able to get out but it can be tricky. I prefer the woods to log out.

I used to go to high places and lie down and log out, but it appears that you log back in standing...doing that in the highest point of an area is not advised!

Yea I go in the woods near the tree line looking out so I remember where I am. If I happen to quickly log out and I'm in a building, logging back in is a stressful time. I'm paranoid until I clear the building and check all the windows.

I logged in one time with a guy in the building. I died. Lesson learned.

outside the cities it's pretty rare to run into players even on full 40 player servers.  I log out just about anywhere, no issues so far.

If I'm not familar with the city or location I try to log out within sight of the city or in what I perceive as a safe upstairs in a building. If I'm comfortable with the area I take refuge in clustered tree areas with a small clearance in the centre. While I wait about a minute to check of no zeds in my radius I arrange my invo which I think also helps to ensure my next log in is where I left it.  

 

 

I've had no problems logging out upstairs apart from it glitching as the server loads but it's always been fine.

You are never safe.  There is no safety in the DayZ world.  Anyone at anytime could be scratched, infected and eat you alive.  :huh:

Well alot of people on the forums know that im better with travelling in the woods and have forced myself to learn the way of the woods {sounding like mr miyagi XD} I always log out in the forest, woods never in a building. Some people it suits, not me. Last thing you want is logging in and hearing people over direct and your a sitting duck :)

As a general rule, I don't log out where I wouldn't take a shit. With the exception of toilets, obviously. I mean, who'd want to spawn back in onto someone's lap?

Out in the woods, i dont know if its just me but, ive recently encountered Z's that can go up to the second floor of the 2 storey houses, first time it happened,it freaked me out, i didnt know wether to axe it or shoot it. I dont like logging out in buildings or houses, ive killed too many people like that. XD

I generally try to log out on the second floor of a building, away from a window - also trying to keep myself a foot away from the walls, tables, objects etc, because I don't trust the engine to freak out and log me in half-way through a wall and/or shoot me up into the air / through the floor / kill me. Like in The Philadelphia Experiment:

 

 

Or outdoors standing next to a tree. It irritates me that the developers are beavering away at new weapons but you can't log in crouched or prone. I can appreciate that it's probably easily on a conceptual level to implement new weapons - time-consuming but not difficult - and there are probably all kinds of issues with intersections etc but still.

Safest place is the woods north of the rr tracks on the north side of the map, no zeds up there yet.  Just go straight north of the NWAF, cross the rr tracks, find a nice wooded area, kick back and relax in a zed free zone.

I ussualy log out in buildings, may not do that anymore... Joined a sever with one other person in it, and guess what room they where in... They ended up dying because they thought they could win playing chicken on the roof of a fire station.

99.9% of the time I refuse to log out in a forest, but rather find a two story building and wait 60 seconds to ensure I don't hear any agro'd zombies before logging out. If I hear them, theres a great chance they won't be able to get upstairs, so it won't matter, but just to be extra safe I wipe them out too. The larger apartment buildings have been even safer hideouts, especially the one with the ladder-elevator. But I haven't ever had an issue with lagging through buildings to my death or issues with ladders so can understand why others are leery.
