March 28th 2014 interview..

Comments on:

-Ragdoll effects

-Throwing

-Persistant Objects: All items potentially being able to be saved that are on the ground might be possible.(No need for tents?)

-New islands, additional worlds(missions, maps): possibly around the time modding tools will be available.

-Banditry/Kos: Notices alot of complaints. It is a important part of the game as well as a important area to look at. They dont want to over-control what players choose to do but they want to create a environment with more tools and playstyles for players to choose from. The idea is when theres more to the game, there will still be people who choose to be a bandit and kos, but it will be much less than what it is right now since there will be more to do. Right now the only endgame is Kosing. They want to add additional "endgames" as well as more reasons to group.

-Trains: Not on the radar at the moment.

*They want DayZ to move into a much more hardcore survival element.*

Correct me on if Im wrong on anything and I will edit, bored at work and was listening to it..

Modding tools? Does anyone know how far that's going? Are we going to have different versions of the game and "24/7 daylight 1000 car start with sniper rifle and personal nuike!!"

When the game comes out, server files for private servers and modding tools are supposed to come out at the same time. (or around the same period)

Thanks for sharing! Interesting interview!! I just hope they don't listen to all the whiners and make the game they really want. The forums have such a negative impact on game making. Everyone claims to have constructive advice or seems to know exactly where the game should be going.

 

In the real world, if you like the game, then good for you: enjoy!! B)      But if you don't like it and keep complaining about this, and that, and whatnot, then go make your own game that you'll enjoy.

 

To each his own. Respect. And thanks for sharing again! (wow, I really hope we see Namalsk with the Stand Alone engine when the modding tools come out!! In 12 to 15 months, if everything goes well!! :thumbsup: )
