zonn44 25 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) "What do you do after you are geared up?" is the major flaw in DAYZ , this concept of Earning the right to a new map can fix this problem. If the developers develop a new playable map it should only be accessible to players who have survived 7 days in the Chernarus map.(or attained some other achievement.) This new map should have more of the higher end stuff and Chernarus should have less. This is all about incentive , and the type of achievement will allow the developers to influence playing style. For instance any player with a murder on their record may be unable to enter the new map and thus only be able to get higher end gear by being a bandit. This will mean other players will be less inclined to KOS as it will come at the cost of losing access to the new map. Or they might have a "HELL" map which can only be accessed if you kill at least 10 players. What the conditions are like in this map full of bandits is up to your own imagination. So after accessing the 2nd map you may then need to satisfy a further perriod of survival on the 2nd map to reach the 3rd map and so on. Please discuss...... AnyoneInCherno? 187 Posted March 31, 2014 So after surviving several dayz (hehehe), you magically can go into a whole new map with more loot? DayZ is meant to make everyone be on an equal playing field.
amiasfree 262 Posted March 31, 2014 I'd really like something like that, maybe not the 'murder/nonmurder' thing, but prereqs for access to a new map would be awesome.
OrLoK 16185 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) Hello there As the game is incomplete ant the fact that the design of Chernaraus + has(and is) taken many years of development, its unlikely to ever be included in the Vanilla game. However, once modding has opened up the game we may see some A2 custom Islands ported over. Im all for Playing on the IFL maps http://i.imgur.com/AsxEiLZ.jpg Rgds LoK Edited March 31, 2014 by orlok

qww 287 Posted April 1, 2014 i disagree with this suggestion because i feel that it sounds restricting, and goes against the open ended vibe of dayz in general

TheRealDen 24 Posted April 1, 2014 That is not a good idea. Everyone can go everywhere with everything they have with them. That is the concept. Not some bullshit like getting into a new area, this is not a single campaign..
SGT. Kalme 106 Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) People are worrying way too much about banditry. It is how people choose to play and I don't see anything wrong with it. And you can't decrease it without setting limits to players so it shouldn't be changed. If anything, players should change their playstyle but it is up to them.I don't like the idea even though I would be able to enter this map if it was implemented. Edited April 1, 2014 by SGT. No. Just because i like to kill everyone i meet i should'nt be able to get on the second map? Or they might have a "HELL" map which can only be accessed if you kill at least 10 players. What the conditions are like in this map full of bandits is up to your own imagination. Besides the fact that i kill everyone i most enjoy killing heroes :). So i wont be able to do that because every Hero is in heaven and every Bandit in hell? doesnt sound good to me.
