I hope we do need loads of items just to survive. It will actually be like trying to survive in an apocalypse, which is what this game is supposed to be about. As it is now, surviving is extremely simple. Hopefully it will get harder to where it is actually a challenge. Otherwise, what's the point in playing the game?

I agree it can be frustrating to find specific gear to deck out but to find the basics it is not so bad.

 

You can get mostly geared in 30 mins to 2 hours
