Less Loot on low pop servers?

Hey There.

 

So it might just be bad luck. I can find good gear but it takes a while.

 

For an example. Since this update iv'e played on 20-10 slot servers (Decent player number for fare loot & not too much PVP just a good amount)

Iv'e searched up to around

 

15-20 barracks (Unlooted)

(Found about only 3 M4's out of 15+ barracks and about 6 UK Assault Vests No tac vests)

 

3 ACT towers (Unlooted)

(Found nothing of use)

 

15 hangers (Unlooted)

(Scopes good attachments)

 

6 military jails (Unlooted)

(1 M4 some helmets 1-2 uk assult vest)

 

9 Train station (Unlooted)

(Literally no press vests D:)

 

7 police station (Unlooted)

(Decent weps and apparently they spawn ballistic vests however seen none)

 

Is this about normal? Or do i need to join higher pop servers to get better loot tables to find better loot spawns? I heard that's a feature that may come out curious if it has already been implemented?

Loot doesn't change based on players yet. It's just that your quite unlucky on that server.

I thought this was going to be a suggestion where less populated servers would have less loot. This would help combat server hopping But then again, there would be no incentive for people to join empty servers at all, which might be a problem.

If they added that feature i would probably start joining 40 slot servers. Well that really depends. If houses start spawning enuf loot for 3 players. Then 40 slot server not so bad i guess.

I have learned to only add a server to my "favorites" if I get lucky while on it..

 

I keep the hotstreak going and as soon as it goes cold, I look for my next golden goose ;)

what's wrong with that? If there are empty servers the devs can reduce them to cater to demand.

Some of those servers cannot just be shutdown (They "technically" can), because people are paying for a good majority of the servers up right now.

I really wish devs would control the amount of public servers so there weren't 1000 public hive servers with 2 people on them.

Why not just add new servers as the old ones fill up? That seems so much more well thought out...

Why have a cap when you could just let there be a limitless amount? Because implementing new servers isn't as easy as cutting cheese.

I've had a real hard time finding sks ammo lately and didn't see any speedloading clip. I am finding normal amount of M4 and ammo for it but couldn't find any scope for it, no red dot nor ACOG.

I am finding many bipods, mosin compensators, weaponlights and so on.

I already mentioned this in another thread but the reason there is less loot on low pop servers is because they are used by hoppers. If you want empty military bases with tons of loot join a full server because everyone is in elektro bashing each others face in. Sounds ridiculous i know but thats what i do all the time. ;)

 

P.S. Only two exceptions, Balota and NEAF ^^

Because the whole "Gear up on a empty server, hop to a full server for DM" metagame most players have adopted is pretty stupid. As long as players have the option to gear up on low pop servers, they will. The DayZ playerbase will use any advantage possible to win, so sometimes you need to take a few of them away.

It amazes me how so many completely disregard other players who are NOT looking to come across any living soul every 4 minutes. You know, not everybody wants to join full 60 slot server to get their PvP fix.

 

How they decide to manage the loot and full vs empty servers, I'll leave to devs but don't force us to join overpopulated servers just because myriad of other people like to do that. I don't mind player interaction ( and therefor PvP in itself ) but my own idea of what dayz and it's survivor aspect should look like is clearly different from other people
