I can already see the basic mod in SA already

Recommended Posts

What I mean by that is, I already see what people are doing in SA that was happening in the mod, just way less more guns. The basic hill snipers with mosins and scopes?

Check.

The people with SKS's shooting people at less than 100 meters like they are prey for new food?

Check.

The guys with m4s running around spray and praying?

Check.

What will happen from here on is more weapons will just get added which will make it a lot easier for the killing and carelessness that happened in the mod.

Hopefully large other things in the future that the devs have in mind will totally change this style of game play.

I don't want SA to turn into the mod.

Wut. The Mod provided a great experience until the hackers ruined it and development slowed to a halt.

There are a few simple things the dev team could implement to improve the situation tenfold, but probably won't because right now hunting and cooking are apparently a really important part of Dean Halls Glorious Vision.

Yeah, it did provide a good experience. But after you found out what the root core of the mod was, it got very boring. It was the same old thing. Get geared up, get food. Go into the wilderness. To do what? Sit there and hunt jack rabbits?

After people got guns, they had nothing to do so it turned into a big blood shed.

Gear up, get food, wilderness, get bored, start trading company, find helicopter, make base, lose helicopter because Turbo wants to show us his cool "tricks". We had a blast.

This is what helicopters felt like to me: When I get a heli, everyone chases me down so they can ruin my moment of fun.

This is what I'm anticipating to happen in SA as we'll due to lack of end game objectives. Maybe I'll be proved wrong by clever players who come up with great ideas inside the sandbox system. I'd just like the devs to implement something that supports other things than deathmatch for end game activities and not rely solely on players to come up with such goals. We'll see I guess :)

Decreasing the spawn rates of popular weapons and/or replacing them with new ones in certain locations would fix the issue you just pointed out. Secondly, if they implement hunting/cooking, this might draw out action out of the main cities more into the middle of the map, forests etc, while still maintaining overall action, but bringing the game to the point where its ment to be. I will be honest, I avoided Elektro the last 1 month. Its a massacre there, no matter, 3 peeps or 40 on server. Theres always someone there just waiting to take you out. Its not survival. In fact, I am now always staying around Berezino/Krasnostav and NEAF. No massacres, low/medium action on high pop servers, large spaces around. Just what survival is.

Most bandits just do that stuff. People get killed, they don't have fun, they become the same and ruin the fun for others. I play as hero, because i want to kill those bandits and bring them to justice.

Don't want the SA to turn into the mod....with all those mods of mods??

Then post a screenshot from (dirt dirty) Epoch.....facepalm :P

I feel like the SA has anticipated this, just look at how many more mill bases and barracks there are on the map now. The whole west side is mill loot paradise.  Theres no need for more guns mods and stuff. I hope they keep it kind of like the l4d system. Can have skins for items that only you see, and addon maps. But nothing that changes gameplay at its core.

One thing I would really like to se is a skins for gear items system that works like the old A2 faces system. For those that don't know that system was that you could set a small custom image file as your guys face. Everyone else on the server would be able to see it. Now if they could "port" that system to use on any gear item, we could see some truly unique items floating round Chernarus. If you get someones....lets say...."custom UK tac vest" that they have skinned bright orange for kicks, that tiny image file would be stored on your PC, allowing you to keep the items unique look. Imagine seeing a survivor in something you skinned, and lost months ago :)

The reason you are seeing people doing things they did in the mod is because-

1. We're on the same map.

2. DayZ SA's PVP is a lot like DayZ Mod's PVP, other then SA's fucked up ballistics.

Sniping works, a lot of people like to sit on hills and shoot at freshies running through Elektro. Some people like to do this without a LRS, as well, and fancy using a super low FOV to get a huge zoom out of their iron sights. Is this a problem? Well, the low FOV super iron sight zoom exploit is a problem, but other then that, these players are just trying to 'snipe'. Something you might not agree with, but something they can do, as this is a sandbox.

Remember, snipers aren't invincible. Other players aren't invincible. When you die, its due to a mistake, especially if you are armed. Always keep an eye on your back and utilize tactics when dealing with hostiles. A bad sniper can be easily flanked and taken out. The best part? Most snipers at Elektro are just that, bad snipers.
