Prof. Awesome 3 Posted June 25, 2012 Aloha,is there a way to destroy barb wire? Those blockades start to show up everywhere and they suck! I play almost everytime on the same server and someone on it blocked the Door of one of the castles (north of cerno) that pretty much sucks, i mean, its there and no one can go in there anymore! optimate 4 Posted June 25, 2012 Try using the step over (default V) key to get over barbed wire. I've managed this a few times - may need more than one step over before you're through. It seems to help if you approach the wire square on and if there's plenty of space on the other side, at an angle or where there's not much room behind the wire never seems to work. Its getting pointless to check some places since its so blocked off, starting to make playing kinda pointless when you're denied a fair chance at loot. xenogias 0 Posted June 25, 2012 It can also kill you instantly when trying to get over it as I found out last night. Was my best survival run yet, had okay guns, food, water, ect. Was night and I figured I would scavenge for better guns or a rare drop. Tried to "V" over barb wire and died instantly. Was actually really pissed. I think you can take them back down with a toolbox to cant you? which is much easier than trying to find that sniper lol.PS. Sniper idiot. Officious (DayZ) 4 Posted June 25, 2012 I wish it was easier to by pass it, I was in the tower of the firehall out side of elektro, and then i logged back on later and the bottom of the stairs was wired. So i changed servers and that one was wired, then the 3rd server was wired on both sides of me!! Was both funny and frustrating hopping servers so I could get out. "Fortifying" one's position does nothing to deter zombies, and no one has a "position" that they maintain. Setting up wire is just trolling right now. Being a HC game doesnt mean "hey I will be as big of a dick as I can be for no real reason". I wont argue if thats a good thing or bad. But this IS a game. When a game has random, rare loot its unfair. As unlikely as it is a person could put 100 hours into the game and never find a gun, or a toolbox, or a hunting knife, or a box of matches. How is that fair? Like I said, unlikely but it COULD happen and like I also said, I wont argue if thats good or bad. Being a HC zombie simulator it should be unfair imo within reason.
