ozvooky 3 Posted March 28, 2014 Hey guys I have a question. Does the ARMA 2 Day Z mod have different servers than the ARMA 3 mod of day Z? So, are the ARMA 2/3 versions of Day Z the same? Do lots of players still play the Arma 2 mod version?Many people still play the DayZ mod, but the setup process is notably more tedious, since there are unofficial variations of the DayZ mod which might not be obvious right away, meaning that you'll go through a lot of different bugs and error messages without being able to join a single server. I have no idea if DayZ mod can be played with Arma 3. Anyone know? Is it the same mod with Arma 3 or different? Been playing DayZ mod through Arma 2 for nearly two years. It's addictive and wonderful. I recommend it to anyone. If people can afford to buy it comfortably, then I'd say do so. Ninja_Meh 115 Posted March 28, 2014 erm arma 3 dayz mod was taken down due to licensing after a request from bohemia... little off topic but kind of a little saddenning i think. the arma 2 version of mod was ported to arma 3 early access engine by literally a group of like 4 young kids from different countries all over the planet. shame man but i know why BI would put in a cease and desist on them, the arma 3 version looked so good compared to the arma 2 version (buggy as hell because of many modelling issues and arma 2 content not existing in arma 3, but this was overcome by the use of all in arma and people having to own arma 2, arma op arrow head AND arma 3 AND THE MOD and allin arma just to get it to work for a long while) personally i still have the arma 2 mod and when i get pissed at running along and suddenly just being told for no reason i am now "dead" in standalone i switch to the mod and go all kinds of bandit on people lol there are however different types of dayz style mods on arma 3 now and imho they look much better and probably have more scope for better mechanics than arma 2 ones but if you want the standalone vanilla vibe arma 2 dayz vanilla is great. as for it being complicated personally i would NEVER use steam to install or run the mod instead buy arma 2 operation arrowhead through steam or somewhere else if you can find a discount cd key, then use kodabars install dayz using arma2 FREE version from here http://kodabar.blogspot.dk/2012/05/how-to-install-dayz-with-arma-2-free.html i have only bought arma2 OA as i could get it at the time for lik 5 pounds alone and then use arma2free for the map and arma 2 bits needed for mod to work. but basically once you got all the arma stuff installed and have made sure to RUN EACH GAME ONCE BEFORE INSTALLING DAYZ MOD (capitals because very important step to get less issues) then just download dayz commander from a google search and that will literally do everything else you need it to to download and install almost every variant of dayz mod available to boot Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
