Dead military bodies and civilian bodies

DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH ZOMBIE BODIES. THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

 

 

now that that's of the way. 

 

by dead bodies i mean dead soldiers who were either shot or killed by a zombie, a dead human cannot come back to life because of the zombie virus, because that aint how dayz zombies work.

 

Anyway, what i suggest instead of having completely abandoned buildings everywhere with no dead civilians anywhere, we add dead military bodies into the loot spawn. These bodies can contain guns, ammo, (pistols, of course.) and maybe even some food.

 

 

Now, dead zombie bodies would be nice aswel. But these wouldn't really have any loot and possibly disappear after 10-15minutes.

 

The only issue with implimenting the actual dead military bodies into loot spawns, is that if we have loot respawning then would may end up with multiple dead military soldiers inside a shed, or civilians, doesn't really matter.

Well, I keep hearing that the game is set 2-3 months after the outbreak. I'm not sure how much body would be left, and having piles of never-rotting infinity corpses would get old.

 

 

Side note; I don't have a picture, but if you've ever passed the bus wreck on the paved road near Solnichny there are a few half-buried corpses. Same concerns as above.

The idea of find some dead body around it's good but we really don't need more weapons spawn points 

 

Military base

Jail

Police station

school

firehose/factory

piano house

brick house

over kiosk (!)

 

and now: new yellow police station (sometimes x2) and wooden pubs 

 

istead of make weapons more rare now you can find them at evry corner, it's really ridiculous  <_<

10/10 would give beans again.

 

I'd love for there to be lootable corpses, not everyone turned into a zed after all. I'd like to see 'survivor' bodies too, not player corpses, but just a corpse that looks like it could've been a random player.

What we could do to compromise this is make weapons spawn rate lower, but in more places? Idk, but the reasons we find hundreds of m4 magazines is because there is no other loot that can spawn in their place

I like the idea but instead of these bodies replacing certain loot spawns it should be placed on the map as a "container" or a "scenery" type just so there won't be that many and it's not like they will be respawning or anything . It would be like a static item like the buses and piles of bodies there already is , yes it would be weird seeing the bodies in one spot all the time because of the chance of camping but the loot on the bodies would be minimal stuff like a couple of bullets maybe some food.

I'd much rather see the bodies indifferent locations rather than the exact same location

It would better work as container : dynamic object (so cannot hide body or dress him or play with ragdoll).
Assuming respawn loot implemented, when empty/looted and out of players field of view it could be deleted and spawn again (full) or just fill again and set, at a different location.

I would suggest a random location, but not on the whole map!
For instance : NWAF have military loot and background so if a "dead military body" must (re)spawn over there, a kind of script could randomly choose which predertermined assigned zone for NWAF (1 or 2 or 3) and then random X Y coords within its radius.
This would encourage players to explore the vicinity instead only rush well known spawn points (while setting always same spawn points ease and encourage server-hoppers)

I love the idea actually. The bodies would be containers, like the lootable fridge that Dean talked about in the last devlog video.

 

I think the bodies should be randomly placed (by having heaps of spots they can spawn but only spawn in a few, similar to how loot is generated) and then random loot inside each body. The loot inside could also respawn like how normal loot will respawn.

 

 

To give it an even better touch, the containers could be like actually dead bodies in the game and have separate slots for pants/shirt/pack etc. And the clothing should be lootable, and should also respawn on the body.

I think dead survivor bodies would suit that bill better.

By military bodies, I actually mean just scattered about the airfield, and wouldn't really have anything at all. And also dead military scavenger bodies inside of ATCs or PDs

eh, i dont really think this should be added.  The zombies would clean up any body that is visible.  I think when they're ready they should just add possible loot to zombies

Even skeletons with only their cloths left on, and their gear would be pretty awesome.

My thoughts exactly, the infected would have eaten all the bodies.

This is pretty much exactly what I want considering the state of buildings and vehicles in Chernarus indicates a timeline that starts many many years after the start of the infection...  I'd also very much like to see severed limbs and torn apart bodies that indicates the infected have been "feeding" as I highly doubt this infection magically makes the infected immune to hunger.

Yea, I agree. I think this is a better idea than what I origonally started with.

Just because it's 2/3 months doesn't mean everybody had to have died 2/3 months ago.

I would like most to be atleast somewhat a decayed and horrible sight, maybe being around corpses for too long could give you warning statuses, like I'm think I'm going to vomit (Decaying Human corpse said to be one of the worst smelling things imaginable) you might get. Taking stuff from bodies should also give you good chances to contract strong bacterial infections and viruses.

Ammo should be rare around any good source of guns, as people probably burned through ammo very fast.
