hi guys,

i want to suggest a weapon for dayz:

CZ Scorpion Evo 3 A1

CZ_Scorpion_EVO_III.jpg

the scorpion evo is a czech submachine gun used by the police and armed forces, using 9mm parabellum (already ingame) rounds

it has three fire-modes : semi-auto, full-auto and 3-round burst

why i think it should be ingame:

- it would be compatible with many (also with the already ingame) attachements

- uses 9mm wich is already ingame

- there already is a czech gun ingame, so why should this one not be ?

- it looks awesome :D

- maybe it would also be a great replacement for the MP5A5 (nettles)

let me know what you think,

I feel like this weapon is too military for the direction they're going to try to take with this game.  It is a bad-ass looking gun and I'll have to look them up later.  It would be a great replacement for the MP5A5, which I think is German?

I too agree for the sole reason that it would be a suitable lore-friendly replacement for the MP5, as a very late game weapon.

Oh that looks so fun but, but, but.....

Its only used by 3 countries in the world right now.

It wouldn't be found in a poor post-soviet country.

and last but not least....CawwwaDooottyyyy and Bartlefurld xaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxa

i'd like to see what more people think about this gun.  Is it used in CoD and BF? I haven't played either of the newest iterations of those games so I dunno.

wow i made a wild guess saying it was in Call of Duty and Battle Field and it is in both games. Really to me anything that is all black and looks like it is futuristic or off Halo i think is something a 7 year old got off CoD or BF.

If it and it's mags are rare, sure why not? As someone else said, it can be a replacement for the MP5.

Yeah, the MP5 is clearly the better choice.

I think quite a few people here hate anything that isn't Eastern-European because it isn't Eastern-European, and that a Tsar Bomb would be a better weapon than the M4A1 to have.

Generally I despise all the military gear being implemented but Cz fits in my opinion because they are manufactured in the Czech Republic which is just a hop and a skip away from where Charnarus is supposed to be if I'm not mistaken. I say for that reason alone it makes just as much sense to have a Cz SMG in the game as it does an HK SMG. Just my two cents.

Because supposedly the gun is used commonly in the Czech Republic. That's why they considered it lore-friendly.  I said it would be a replacement because it uses 9mm parabellum rounds like an MP5.  I voted no, though, because it's too tacti-cool for the setting. Chernarus is supposedly a post-Soviet country that's war-torn and broke.

If The gun is in the location which this map is based in. Then yes, if not, no

Yes, but Chernarus is not the Czech Republic. They speak Russian and their armies use Russian equipment. And from that list, the MP5 is used in the Czech Republic, as well as being used in every other major ex-Soviet satellite and being a ridiculously more successful and common weapon overall.

In my eyes its not a matter of if they're used by the Russian military. Its simply a matter of a few hundred miles from the Czech Republic to the Charnarus area. Thats a drive of a halfdozen hours. No reason weapons wouldn't cross borders in a post apocalyptic environment like this. God, I can't beleive I'm defending a military weapon in this game...

Chernarus is supposedly Czech Republic (well, a copy of the part of it). It was a communist state and part of Soviet Union but at the time we aare looking at in DayZ, this country is not very Russian-friendly and they have very little to none USSR weaponry for themselves. The explanation of Russian forces could be that they tried to stop the outbreak by sending troops in (like US) which is very similar to what happens to Ukraine today (they don't have Russian machinery or weaponry but you can see Russian IFVs and soldiers with their equipment around) minus the virus outbreak, of course.

Anyway... For the weapon, I don't see a reason why wouldn't it be in game even though I'd rather see MP5 instead.

What? Almost everything they use is of Soviet origin.

Main rifles: AK-74, AKM

Main tanks: T-64, T-80

Main APCs: BMP-1, BMP-2, BTR-70, MT-LB

Main helicopters: Mi-8, Mi-24, Mi-26

Main fighter planes: Su-27, MiG-29

Noticing something in common? Their navy is all Soviet ships as well.

this country is not very Russian-friendly and they have very little to none USSR weaponry for themselves

The terrain is based on the Czech Republic but Chernarussians use Soviet equipment and write in Cyrillic. You should take a look at the equipment of the Chernarussian Defense Force.

They have a video here:

And here's the Chedaki video:

Main rifle: AK-74

Main tank: T-72

Main helicopters: Mi-8, Mi-24

Main APCs: BMP-1

It's all the same, every single thing is Soviet.

Anyways, my point is actually the opposite: the MP5 is way more common in former Soviet/Communist/Eastern European states.

As I posted above MP5 is used in Albania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine.

Out of the former Soviet/Communist/Eastern European states the Evo 3 A1 is only used in Czech Republic. So the MP5 is a better fit, why include this when you could have the MP5 instead?

The MP5 is a better fit to the game. This new Scorpion doesn't have a large market share (and it might never get one if submachine guns are falling out of favor as in the West), the MP5 has a huge market share.

Many here say that these weapons should not be in Chernarus. Then why do we have the M4A1, C Z 75, Colt 1911 tactics and so on?

Generally, I don't like the idea of having more combat guns in DayZ, but this one kind of makes sense.  As long as it does the same amount of damage per bullet as the cz 75, which should be less than the .45 but more than the .22

The only reason I'm cool with it is because it would take quite a few bullets to actually drop someone with this gun and it acually makes sense that it would be in the game since its used by the police.

It should be rare to find and very moddable.

It kind of reminds me of the sting 9mm in arma 3, which is probably the weakest of the smg's, or whatever the fuck that gun is classified as.

For starters, the 1911 and cz 75 are both very common weapons that are owned by civilians.  In fact, I think you're more likely to find a 1911 or cz 75 in someone's home than a sporter 22, mosin, blazer, or sks(which all spawn in the piano room for some reason).  So, I dont really get why those 2 guns only spawn in military bases....

And we should have at least 2 rare military grade weapons in the game, since there are military bases everywhere......

ArmA 3's SMG is the Scorpion Evo 3 A1, which does make it a "plausible" addition, considering the FNX-45 is a port of the "4-Five .45".

actually, the FNX-45, 1911 & CR75 all appear to be ports; FNX-45 being ArmA 3's "4-5 .45", 1911 being ArmA 3's "ACP-C2", and the CR75 being ArmA 2 ACR DLC's CZ-75 SP-01 Phantom.
